Today, Genesis Mining announced the release of sgminer-gm – an AMD GPU miner with support for the Ethereum network. Developed in cooperation with Wolf0, sgminer-gm incorporates the best of cgminer and sgminer in one easy-to-use package, and adds a long-awaited feature: stratum support for Ethereum (ETH), though you will be able to use the miner for other crypto currencies using the Ethash algorithm as well. All other Ethereum miners so far were custom and not based on the cgminer/sgminer functionality and now you will be able to work with the familiar feature set that sgminer comes with, including the API available for integrating support in other software for monitoring of your mining rigs for example.

Sgminer-gm can be compiled from the official Github repository (source); Windows executables are available for 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems; and a compiled Ubuntu binary. A sample configuration is provided for users, just make sure you set the mining pool and wallet/worker address in the sgminer.conf file before running the miner! Feel free to give the miner a try and then also report if you are having any trouble running it or what hashrate are you getting mining Ethereum and on what AMD GPUs.

Founded in 2013, Hong-Kong based Genesis Mining has become a world leader in providing hosted hashpower for cryptocurrency. In November 2015, a nationwide awareness campaign was launched in San Francisco, Chicago, Miami and LA by Genesis Mining, which highlighted the benefits of using Bitcoin. In March 2016, the company launched the Logos Fund: a private fund dedicated to investing into a wide range of Bitcoin-related businesses.

Ethereum is one of the fastest growing cryptocurrencies next to Bitcoin. Just a few months ago, the price was $1, then it shot up to $13 and today it has settled at just under $10. This rapid growth excited investors who were eager not to miss out on another hyper-growth investment opportunity.

While some choose to invest in Ethereum directly, many are turning to Cloud Mining to enter the market. Genesis Mining, the world’s largest cloud mining provider and first Ethereum cloud miner, announced today a significant decrease in their price to mine Ether.

Starting today, the price will be $37 per MH/s, reduced from the current rate of $44 per MH/s. Discussing this price change, Genesis Mining co-founder and CEO Marco Streng stated, “Every day, we are working to reduce operational costs to mine on behalf of our 200,000 customers and every time we have the opportunity to provide greater ROI potential and value to our customers, we are honored”.

Following the price reduction announcement, Genesis Mining released footage of their Ether cloud mining farm, Enigma, which is the largest Ether cloud mining farm in the world. You can view the newly released footage here. CTO of Genesis Mining, Stefan Schindler stated “The reason we are able to continue reducing the price for our customers is due to heavy optimization of the Enigma farm and economy of scale. We are proud of bringing Ether Mining mass deployments to a next dimension with Enigma.”

Like all cryptocurrencies, the future of Ether remains uncertain, but the tone of the conversation surrounding Ether is different than almost any other cryptocurrency. Discussing the excitement, Streng stated, “We believe it is headed to the moon and we are building a rocketship to make sure our customers do not miss out”.

Currently serving over 180,000 customers, the world’s leading Bitcoin cloud mining provider Genesis Mining is celebrating its two year anniversary with generous 5% discount codes on all purchases until April 11.

Two years ago, Marco Streng, Marco Krohn and Jakov Dolic announced the launch of Genesis Mining. After being involved in Bitcoin for several years, they watched on the sideline as cloud mining companies came and went and realized that there was a huge opportunity in the market to offer a legitimate and trusted cloud mining service.

Genesis Mining has now become one of the fastest growing Bitcoin companies in the world and today, proudly serves over 180,000 active daily customers.

Speaking with Marco Streng, CEO and Co-Founder of Genesis Mining, he stated “When we first launched, we made it our goal to truly dedicate ourselves to our customers. While we come up with innovate ideas on our own, many of the new services and products we launch come straight from our customers. We’ve made it a habit to listen to what they want then build products and services to cater to them.”

And the customer growth continues, driven in recent months by the rapid increase of Ether price. Genesis Mining made headlines in February when they announced their Ether Cloud Mining offering when the price was below a dollar, shortly after the price began to quickly increase, reaching nearly $12 today. This price hike resulted in a flood of new and thrilled customers.

While operating for two years and 180,000 customers are significant milestones, Genesis Mining continues to raise the bar and aim for new heights. To celebrate the two year anniversary of launching, Genesis Mining is happy to offer a 5% discount code to all customers, valid until 04/11/16 11:59 PM. To receive a 5% discount on Bitcoin, Ethereum and Scrypt cloud mining, simply enter discount code HappyBirthdayGM16 at checkout.
