sgminer-50-windows-latest

It has been a while since we have compiled a windows binary of the new sgminer 5.0 based on the latest (source) as it seems that the version 5.0 is already out of beta. The sgminer 5.0 is trying to provide an unified and feature-full GPU miner by integrating the kernels for mining various crypto currencies in a single miner, including support the latest algorithms. Do note that the kernels included with this release may not be the fastest out there in terms of performance for X-based crypto currencies as there my be other forks that offer higher performance. This is just a windows binary that we have compiled from the latest source, so if you are using the official sgminer and not some fork you might want to check out the latest version.

We have compiled a windows binary of the new sgminer 5.0 beta based on the latest (source) and you can download and try it yourself from the link below. The sgminer 5.0 beta is trying to provide an unified and feature-full GPU miner by integrating the kernels for mining various crypto currencies in a single miner, including support the latest algorithms. We have compiled this binary in order to use it in our NiceHash Control tool based package with support for AMD GPUs and we are going to update the latest package with the new sgminer 5.0 beta shortly. We have already tried the binary with the latest AMD beta video drivers and it does work fine with slightly higher performance, so you might want to update to the 14.7 Beta drivers if you still haven’t done so. Update from the previous 14.6 beta might not bring such a performance increase, unlike updating from previous versions, where you can expect to get a better performance boost.

sgminer-5-0-beta-windows

We have compiled a windows binary of the new sgminer 5.0 beta based on the latest (source) and you can download and try it yourself from the link below. The sgminer 5.0 beta is trying to provide an unified and feature-full GPU miner by integrating the kernels for mining various crypto currencies in a single miner, including support the latest algorithm – X14, also do note that the X15 kernel is called bitblock for example. Furthermore the software tries to implement the option to use runtime-kernel-switching on the fly between crypto currencies using different algorithms, though this is something that needs some more work. This way a single GPU mining rig can mine for different coins using different algorithms at the same time, or have these pools as failover etc. No need to use a different miner for different pools and for different coins anymore, or at least you may not have to when the software becomes a bit more stable and reliable. A bit of warning though, this is still a beta version, check the DOC folder for more information about the new features if you still haven’t tried the sgminer 5.0 beta.
