It Is All About BTC, LTC, ETH, DOGE, KAS mining as well as other alternative crypto currencies
The drawback is that the Nvidia developer driver version 470.05 does require you to register on the Nvidia website as developer and is currently still available for Windows only, but hey, it works and you get the full mining hashrate mining Ethereum and other algorithms such as Verthash used by Vertcoin that apparently also suffered from the hashrate limitation introduced by Nvidia for the RTX 3060. For VTC mining with the above settings the hashrate we are getting is around 810 KH/s instead of the reduced in half sub-400 with the regular driver.
Update: It seems that this “workaround” is still somewhat limited to just when using a single RTX 3060 GPU connected to a monitor, with more GPUs in a mining rig it does not seem to work for full hashrate on all of the video cards… If you do not have the hardware you can look for personal loans for bad credit and use it to buy the equipment that you need. When looking for help to apply for a loan and will match you to the best deal offered based on your application, you can visit a site similar to https://sunnyloansuk.co.uk/same-day-loans-direct-lender/ for more info!
Further researching into the matter with a single RTX 3060 GPU working with unrestricted hashrate, while multiple ones not working has revealed that there seem to be some conditions met. Having a single RTX 3060 GPU connected on a ь8/x16 PCI-E slot (no extenders) and a monitor connected to it. This makes us believe that Nvidia did not in fact forget to implement the protection in the latest developer driver 370.05, but has instead further improved their protection mechanism instead. What they could’ve done is to detect that you are using a single video card in a gaming setup and then no limitations, even for mining will be enforced, while if more GPUs on a slower PCI-E interface are present then this is a mining rig and the hashrate will be reduced.

any idea if and when driver comes for linux?

The latest developer version 470.05 is only available for Windows, the last version of Linux of the developer driver is 460.56 that adds support for GeForce RTX 3060, though we have not tested if that particular driver will work with full or half the hashrate…
It is possible that it will not feature the hashrate limiter as well, so you are welcome to download and try it and if you do, please report your results: https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/linux-solaris-and-freebsd-driver-460-56-long-lived-branch-release/169452

For some reason I cannot make it work at B550 motherboard :(

Some say the limiter is on if you are using RBAR so try disabling it in the bios. It works fine on my B450 with an old bios before RBAR.

I’ve uploaded the driver here, so no need to register: https://we.tl/t-382nnserQ4

its not because of multi-gpu or RBAR, the limiter will kick in if it run on lower than x16 lane.
so if its connected to main x16 slot, most mobo will run it at x16, but once u put second 3060 on second x16 slot, most mobos are running it at x8 (even if its physically full length slot) thats where the limiter will kick in.
this case also make it won’t work on riser because the risers are running at x1.

You say linux 460.39 but the link is to 460.56 am I reading this incorrectly?

The 39 was a mistake, it is 56…

Have you encountered anything such that during hashing it is impossible to manually control the fan speed? In my case it looks like that by setting the fan speed in the Afterburner to any speed higher than 30%, after starting the digging, they slow down again to 30%. I have tried to set the curve and nothing has the same effect every time.

Can confirm using 470.05 with more than a single GPU nerfs the rest of the system. Not only did hash rate get cut to ~25MH/s on 4 differing cards, but power usage on 2 doubled.
Retuning to a proper release 462.xx returns hash rate to other GPU but 3060 runs at 25MH/s.

I did as Admin said, but the hash drop from 47 then 42, 37, 30, 27, 26. How to fix this ?

As written above, my INNO3D 3060 ERAZOR has a lower hash rate even with the 470.05 driver.:( In a single PCI-E x16. However, there are no restrictions on the Octopus algorithm. I will try it on another PC from now on.

I have a Gigabyte RTX 3060 ELITE AORUS 12G but with or without the 470.05 driver the hashrate is 25 MH/’s.

A follow-up to INNO3D 3060 ERAZOR…
Everything went well on another PC (x399 m / b).
Adding the second same card.
Achieved a total of 98 MH /’s with the Excavator algorithm.
The system power consumption is about 430W.
The second one requires an HDMI emulator plug. If I remove it, it will still be limited to 23 MH /’s.
As mentioned in the article, it seems important that PCI-E has 16 lanes of 3.0.

Apparently, there’s also a way to use risers. But it’s heavily mobo-dependent.

Hi. I installed a 3060 12gb and managed to run 47 mh/s. After like 10 hours it dropped to 26, because MemCtrl Load dropped to 65% from 100% for who knows what reason. So now it sits at 26mh/s. Gonna do a DDU and clean reinstall of the 470.05 drivers and see if it does it again or not, to know if i keep mining with it or i play on it and use my 5700xt for mining. sad . I’ve read somewhere that i need to turn off CUDA ?

Z390 Ace motherboard with 2 x MSI RTX 3060 gaming X installed with 470.05 driver and windows workstation clean install GPU0: 41.753MH GPU1: 41.881MH without afterburner tweaks
Bios PCIE left on Auto, Resize Bar Enabled, above 4gb video/mining enabled.
GPU0: 49.738MH GPU1: 51.628MH with afterburner PWR 74%, TEMP 83, Core: -200 Mem +1400 Fan Speed was at 75%
Using Pheonix Miner 5.5c with option -mcdag 1 , 2nd 3060 is plugged into old acer monitor without power pack connected and i get full hash rate, if i unplug video cable hash rate drops, but as soon as i plug back into non powered monitor hash rate returns.
biggest issue i had was installing the 470.05 driver, took 3-4 goes to get it to install, ended up downloading current NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Drivers 465.89 WHQL installed first then updated over the top with the 470.05.
System has been running for 11 days so far no issues.

THANK YOU! Rolled back to this driver and plugged your settings into Afterburner. Now at just under 60 MH/s

Just a gigabyte 3060 from newegg today and can confirm it will not mine over 27MH/s. I only installed the 470.05 driver and have the card hooked directly to a monitor and it’s still being throttled.

Good evening,
I have a Pc desktop with 3 graphic cards gyx 1660 super, despite I only get around 90 Mh/s I like my Pc desktop because I can play and mine with it. My only broblem is the high noise it produce when is working (games or mining) and because the Pc desktop is my living room my family is already claim for a solution for such a high noise!! Do you have any solution for solve this problem? any clue that I can use?
Thanks in advance for your replies,
Regards

Hey guys. Any luck on how to use multiple 3060 with this driver? Is the tricky only to use a HDMI Dummy?
Also, any idea how to unlock the risers?

Downloaded Nvidea driver 471.68 and it installed successfully. Hash rates on my Palit RTX3060ti OC were around 25MH/s
Downloaded Nvidea driver 470.05 and it refuses to install saying the the windows 10 version is not supported and that it could not find any supported hardware. My windows 10 is version 20H2. Tried this on two different make motherboards but same results. Anybody come across this problem?

Reinstall Windows and download Nvidea driver 470.05 from another source.
