New sgminer With Optimized Quark and Qubit Binary Kernels

sgminer-5-1-1-quark-qubit

The Quark and Qubit crypto algorithms continue to be quite profitable, but until recently these algorithms were mostly in the Nvidia domain as the ccMiner for Nvidia GPUs was faster than the available performance on AMD hardware. There is however a new sgminer fork with compiled Quark and Qubit kernels that was sent to us that brings up the hashrate significantly on Pitcairn and Tahiti AMD GPUs. We have tested this particular sgminer on a Radeon R9 280X and we are getting about 11.22 MHS on Quark with a non overclocked GPU and about 12.3 MHS on Qubit and you can get higher with OC and increase in the Intensity. Quark is apparently quite profitable at the moment on NiceHash and WestHash due to the interest in SharkCoin or so it seems, so if you have some idle AMD GPUs that you are wondering where to point them there. Do note that the sgminer is not compiled by us and it comes with the standard OpenCL kernel files, so you need to use the binaries for the higher performance. Since we have not compiled this sgminer from source and it was sent to us already compiled we would recommend to be cautions and not run it on systems with wallets installed, just in case!

To download and try the sgminer 5.1.1 with optimized Quark and Qubit kernels for Windows OS…

How come no Hawaii bin for R9 290, everybody seems to be using them at the moment judging by 32GHs at Nicehash! LOL

Can someone please post if this miner is safe? Free of trojans or viruses.

Has anyone tried it? I ran the start file and only got 250kh/s…?

You need the latest Omega 15.4 beta drivers to get it to work.

Oh, I forgot to mention, remove “d=0.05” and replace it with a simple “x” for the password.

Radeon 290 and 290X are not supported as there is no binary kernel compiled for them, the included OpenCL kernels are the standard for sgminer and not the optimized ones used to generate the binary kernels!

Hope they release soon 290 and 290x version.

FYI to use a 290\x you need to first run it and generate a hawai bin then copy the name of that and replace one of the pre generated bins with that name (similar to x11 and wolf0 bins) and it will run.
Im getting 15mh with 290x cards

I rename the bin file of Tahiti to the generated file name of Hawaii bin, but I get GPU error.

Are these built kernels usable on linux? I thought they might be but it definitely doesn’t work out of the box. One problem I’m running into is my settings aren’t inducing the right kind of “file” to be generated: Mine is: quarkcoinTahitigw64l8ku0.bin but the optimized kernel ends in “..l4ku0.bin”. Should this even work? What setting does that “l8” refer to?

I tried building sgminer, libjansson, etc 32-bit but it crashes at the kernel compile step.

The BIN kernels are not useable on Linux as you would also need a specially compatible sgminer compiled to work with them, the normal one will not work them like on Windows and we do not have the source code of the miner available either.

Oh, I see. You’re saying that __the sgminer itself__ isn’t the standard one. I didn’t realize that.

Thanks for the heads-up.
