Online Demo of the xOS Interface of Minebox

The creators of the Minebox NAS storage with support for SIACoin (SC) have made available an online demo of the xOS interface that their devices apparently use, allowing users to get a feel on what to expect from the devices. Minebox is still running their limited pre-order of 200 units with 138 left to go, so you can still reserve yours if you are interested in the project and also want to support it. The sale is running a bit slow with some users not liking very much the higher price of the devices, but then again getting an NAS solution with the same HDDs for storage probably won’t be much different price wise and it will not have the features Minebox has.

Sia is so worthless and barely anyone is actually utilizing the cloud storage contracts already out there. I don’t see $800 ever being made back with one of these boxes. The interface looks clean and user friendly though

Don’t forget that it is first a NAS device for storing your own data, and the SIA support is an extra that allows you to earn something back from the price you have paid for the device for the free space you have available and don’t use.

And don’t forget, if you buy 8TB/16TB NAS device, you are going to use most space of it or you don’t need this devices and if you use most space for storage, what is left gives you not just nothing, but more then nothing, especially when it’s so expensive.
Better buy an alternative if you really need NAS and save money today, then earn it back never!
