Latest ccMiner 2.2 fork by Nanashi Meiyo-Meijin For MonaCoin Mining

12 Oct
2017

It seems that the last day MonaCoin (MONA) has exploded in price and profitability for mining as a result, so there is increased interest from miners. So here is a 32-bit Windows binary (CUDA 8.0) of the latest ccMiner 2.2-based fork from Nanashi Meiyo-Meijin (source) with optimized Lyra2REv2 performance. The code is based around the ccMiner 2.2 release from tpruvot, but offers faster performance for Lyra2REv2 with up to about 10% (depending on the GPU being used) compared to other publicly available forks. The Lyra2REv2 algorithm is performing very well on Nvidia-based mining rigs, so with the current low altcoin mining profitability you might want to give it a try. The profitability of VertCoin (VTC) is lower, but still pretty high compared to some other coins and algorithms at the moment, so it is also an alternative as the profit for MONA can start to drop soon.

Tried downloading the miner and run it but it says like this “GPU #2: result for 7887a62b does not validate on CPU!”

WARNING: The ccminer-2.2-mod-r1 .exe file potentially contains a trojan called “win32/Fuery.A!cl” Run it through Virustotal and you’ll see 6 threats. Windows Defender also picks it up. I thought this might be a false positive, but a little digging shows that this thing might be kinda nasty. Does cryptomining-blog have a history of linking to malicious software?

passes just fine through my defender and malware scanner.

Only two of my three machines picked it up with Windows Defender, which is weird. As for Virustotal, you can view the ccminer.exe profile here: https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/bddc4642cdfe8f4cd08ab528afab4ee60632039f3f891571daf0aa63a044eced/detection

However, I scanned a few other miners I’m using and they all had threats too, so who knows. It’s looking like it’s probably just a bunch of false positives. Still gives me the heebie jeebies though!

new version?

Miners often get false positives or get detected as bitcoin miners from antivirus, feel free to compile from source or download any of the other precompiled binaries available if you are worried. Updated to r2, though not much of a performance difference is noticeable between the two.

doesn’t work. just tells me I’m missing some .dll. Went back to 2.2 and getting 62MH/s with a 1080Ti. 5 extra would have been nice…though it just throws up errors.

“can’t start because api-ms-win-crt-convert-l1-1-0.dll is missing” I don’t know WTF that is about but the normal 2.2 works fine. Anyone else got this problem?

You need insall all mircosoft .net pack and C+ etc to run ccminer.

But this version steal half of total hash to pool…1080ti get 60Mh but only 30Mh in the pool…I change another ccminer and all hash are ok now

Doesn’t matter at this point. I get 66MH after a bit of tweaking with 2.2.2. Nothing being stolen from what I can tell.

Very very good, much much helpful. Speed up up up from original ccminer 2.2.2 62.83 MH/s to 67.54MH/s, I’m using MSI Geforce GTX 1080 Ti AERO 11G OC. Hope could mine 1 モナ/day. 大エロ帝国のコイン万歳!万歳!万々歳!

Could somebody merge the new code into Alexis78 Github?

Luckily I didn’t run it on my local machine, only on mining rig that has no access to wallets.
I confirm that it shows higher hashrate, but pool get only half.

If someone knows how to get in touch with the creator of this ccminer fork, there is a bug in the code relating to -d and GPU from 10 and above.

https://github.com/KlausT/ccminer/commit/caf27b4af870e1004a36f533d0828c59dbf1d3b6

This is the fix for the issue. KlausT found the error in his code.

“The old code was checking the length of the numbers.
If it was longer than one character then you got an error.
The exact code change you can see here:
caf27b4
Now the code isn’t checking the length anymore.”
