Raven (RVN) is an interesting coin that has been under the radar for many people up until recently when it got hyped and the interest in it has grown seriously in the past days. Initially the coin was only CPU mineable, then a ccMiner version with support for the X16r algorithm used by the coin was introduced for Nvidia miners by tpruvot however that miner has been a bit troublesome for many users due to power spikes and mining systems rebooting, so people had to reduce TDP or downclock and suffer performance loss in order to mine stable. Fortunately there is a new improved miner available now – ccMiner Enemy 1.03 that offers better performance and more stable mining with higher TDP and clocks (still depending on your hardware).
The ccMiner Enemy 1.03 fork for Raven (RVN) mining is available only as a 32-bit Windows binary for the moment and is compiled for CUDA 8, it supports the X16r algorithm used by RVN as well as X17. For better performance the latest 390.xx drivers from Nvidia are recommended, so make sure you are up to date. If you are mining Raven (RVN) or had plans to do so, but were set back by the problems from the initial miner you should definitely try the new release as it should handle much better. AMD miners are still unable to mine Raven as there is no compatible X16r miner available yet, though there is a substantial bounty for anyone willing to make one.

The WhirlpoolX algorithm is now supported in both the latest updates of the ccMiner forks from SP (source) and Tpruvot (source). So we have compiled windows binaries from the latest source for both miners and decided to test the performance we are getting mining the WhirlpoolX altcoin Vanillacoin (VNL). Do note that the sp-mod fork of ccMiner is optimized and supports the newer Computer 5.0 and 5.2 Nvidia Maxwell GPUs where the performance is maxed out while the tpruvot fork supports Compute 3.0 or newer video cards. We have tested the performance we are getting on GeForce GTX 980 GPU with the two miners, the SP version as expected gives out higher performance on a Maxwell card as expected with about 233 MHS while the tpruvot fork is not that much slower with about 222 MHS mining WhirlpoolX. So if you are mining WhirlpoolX on Nvidia-based video cards or leasing your hashrate you might want to update your miner to the appropriate version depending on your GPUs.

The ccMiner fork from djm34 (source) received another update that adds support for the Luffa512 algorithm used by crypto coins such as DoomCoin. A new coin that was recently announced as a CPU-only crypto, but is now also mineable by Nvidia GPUs and while there is still no GPU miner AMD rigs available, but one will most likely follow very soon as well. We have compiled a Windows binary from the latest source and have tried it out mining DoomCoin, on GeForce GTX 750 Ti we are getting a hashrate of about 55 MHS and on GeForce GTX 780 Ti the hashrate is about 90 MHS. You can download an try the windows binary of the miner from the link below, do note that this version of djm32’s ccMiner fork supports all of the previously released algorithms as well.
The windows binary available here is compiled for Compute 3.0, 3.5 and newer cards (32-bit version only) in a single binary, so it will not work on older cards. If you are unsure what version of Compute does your video card support check the included GPU Compute Capabilities List file. The binary is compiled with Visual Studio 2010 and is backwards compatible with Windows XP as well if you are using it on your mining rig.
Update: You might want to redownload the updated version of the miner from the link below as it brings significant performance improvement, the new hashrate you can get is about 80 MHs on GTX 750 Ti up from about 55 MHS and on GTX 780 Ti the performance is now about 120 MHS up from about 90 MHS.
