Genesis Mining Offering Ethereum Cloud Mining Again

The cloud mining provider Geneis Mining has started offering Ethereum cloud mining contracts again after they were not available for a couple of months with the focus more on ZCash cloud mining with GPUs. The new mining contracts are available at a lower price and with an extended 2 Years period with no additional mining fees (everything is included in the price you pay for the hashrate). There is of course a clause in the contract saying that in case Ethereum switches to Proof of Stake (POS) before the contract period ends your hashrate will not disappear, but will instead be switched to the most profitable algorithm to mine at that point of time. Initially we expected to see Ethereum (ETH) switch to POS at some point this year, but this will most likely be delayed and no official date for the switch has been announced yet… and the interest and price of Ethereum has been going up lately once more.

CloudHashing to Offer a Price of $1.99 USD per GHS for Bitcoin Cloud Mining

The Bitcoin cloud mining service Cloud Hashing is becoming more aggressive lately as they have just announced their plans to start offering $1.99 USD price per GH for Bitcoin cloud mining. Their recent merger with the hardware manufacturer HighBitCoin and the forming of the company PeerNova has apparently allowed them to do achieve really good mining performance and thus be able to lower the price for their cloud mining services. They claim that PeerNova’s new PetaOne Blade using a custom 28nm ASIC chip has a power efficiency of 0.35W per GH/s and that is half of what the KnCMiner’s new Neptune miners are said to be able to offer in terms of power efficiency.

There is a bit of a catch though, you are not able to yet get the $1.99 USD price per GHS for their cloud mining services. The mining contracts at this new price are set to go live in August and are 1 year in length and will be a limited volume available on a first come first serve basis. At the moment the price per GHS you can get with the lowest entry level cloud mining plan in terms of hashrate being offered is about $7.48 USD for the 40 GHS plan and about $5 per GHS for the 600 GHS plan. But the big question is what will be the Bitcoin network difficulty by August, especially now that KnCMiner is about to start shipping their new 3 THS Bitcoin miners. Apparently we’ll have to wait and see.

The Scryptcc Cloud Mining Service Moving from GPUs to Scrypt ASICs

The Scrypt cloud mining service Scryptcc was one of the first to start offering Scrypt cloud hashrate using GPUs for mining alternative Scrypt-based crypto currencies and paying its users in Bitcoin. The service was quite interesting when they’ve launched, but had some issues from the start and they were a bit slow in fixing things, but lately they seem to have improved. In fact we’ve seen some similar services come and go and this one is still here and without having some major hiccups like others had. The interesting thing was that up until recently they were still using only GPUs for mining Scrypt and thus the profitability was not good at all. However there is a new announcement that they have started adding Scrypt ASICs in their new data center and report that profitability has started to get better again. Currently the price of 1 KHS is ~0.000324 BTC or about 0.324 BTC per Megahash worth of Scrypt mining hashrate at the service, so definitely not the best price. According to the profit calculator available on their website buying 1 MHS of cloud mining hashrate at the moment you can expect to break even in about 152 days. This is not the best deal we’ve seen for sure, but not the worst either.
