If you want to try to make up your own crypto currency mining pool, but are not a Linux sysadmin or too much into crypto currencies you may have a hard time figuring out how to do it as it is not as easy as it may seem. Thankfully there are resources that are as detailed as they can get to guide you through all of the basic steps you need to take to setup your own mining pool even if you are a novice with some very basic Linux knowledge. We are going to direct you to a detailed step by step guide on setting up a MPOS (Mining Portal Open Source) mining pool using NOMP as stratum (Node Open Mining Portal) on Linux, then another guide on how to do some basic things to harden your server and secure it and in the end another guide on how to setup Cloudflare as a DNS server for your pool. You can thank a user called profall for writing up these detailed guides suitable for novice users that are willing to setup their first crypto mining pool server and the links for the guides are below. These detailed guides will help you get a good start in making your first mining pool a reality, but then again you will have to be ready to learn more on the go as a pool operator, so be ready for that as well.

As a long time and happy users of the LTC Rabbit mining pool we are happy to see that they have added support for X11 mining. The idea behind X11 mining support is pretty much the same as the pool’s idea for Litecoin mining – you mine X11-based crypt currencies such as DarkCoin and they get automatically exchanged for LTC and you are being payed in Litecoins. So people with GPUs that are moving away from Scrypt mining could consider mining X11 and still get payed in LTC as Litecoin mining is slowly moving to the ASIC mining domain and will continue to do so in the next months making it not so profitable to mine with GPUs anymore.

You are able to mine X11 at the pool by using the sgminer for DarkCoin on AMD-based GPUs as well as by using ccminer with X11 support that wwas recently released for mining with Nvidia-based GPUs. Currently we are seeing similar performance mining on AMD and Nvidia graphics cards, however we are soon expecting to see an updated for ccminer that will bring significant improvement to the hashrate we are currently getting on Nvidia. The most notable advantage of mining X11 is that the GPUs should be cooler and use less energy as compared to mining Scrypt for example, or at least we are seeing that on AMD GPUs. So now you have another interesting alternative available to mine no Scrypt-based crypto and still get payed in Litecoins.

LTC Rabbit is an interesting pool for mining scrypt-based crypto coins that does the automatic profitability switching between LTC and a few other crypto currencies for you such as DOGE. What makes this pool different is that it does everything for you automatically and you end up being payed directly in Litecoin and not many different crypto currencies that you need to send back to an exchange and trade them. This pool solves the problem of mining many scrypt cryptos like in Multipool for example, then moving them to an exchange such as Cryptsy, and selling them either automatically or by hand. This method may be a bit more profitable, but is also more time consuming and riskier as the price may drastically change while you wait for your crypto currency to appear on the exchange. LTC Rabbit does everything for you and you end up being paid in LTC directly, regardless of the crypto currency being mined currently, and though this method may be a bit less profitable, it is much easier and safer, especially on the miners that are new and are still getting the hang of things.

LTC Rabbit has a 2% pool fee, and uses PPS (Pay Per Share) payment system with payments being distributed to users every hour respective to the submitted shares by their miners. You get paid for the LTC mining you would normally do in an Litecoin only mining pool plus PPS altcoin bonus on top of your regular earnings, and it all comes in the form on LTC available in your account. The pool has stratum servers in Europe, USA, Asia and Australia, and they are DDoS protected and stable. There is no minimum payout limit, so you can do manual cash out a any time you wish provided that you are ready to pay a 0.002 LTC transaction fee. We have been testing this pool for a while now and are quite satisfied with the results we are getting and it has already replaced our LTC mining pool as a default option instead of having it as a backup. What we would recommend is to give it a try and see if you would also like the ease of use and the profit you get from the pool that is doing everything automatically for you.
