The latest CryptoNight AMD GPU miner SRBMiner 1.8.8 comes with a significantly reduced CPU usage of up to ~50% that can be noticed on CryptoNight algorithms with small scratchpad like UPX2 and Turtle for example. This can be helpful on GPU mining rigs where the CPUs are struggling to provide enough performance and as a side effect there could be a slight performance boost for RX cards on UPX2. The new version brings some usability and functionality changes as well to make the use of the miner easier and more problem free.

You can find the full changelog for the latest release quoted below. Do note that the developer fee is ~0.85% for both normal mode and algorithm switching mode as SRBMiner is a closed source miner available for AMD GPU miners only under Windows.

SRBMiner V1.8.8 Full Cangelog:
– Reduced CPU usage up to ~50%, can be noticed on algos with small scratchpad
– User is now informed about tweaking status on the screen too, not just in log
– No more --gpureorder, device ordering by bus id is now the default/only display mode
– Added parameter --watchdogrounds, which controls after how many rounds will watchdog trigger
– min_rig_speed_duration default is 1 minute now, because of the new --watchdogrounds parameter
– Fixed a few cosmetical things on web stats

The latest version 1.8.4 of the CryptoNight AMD GPU miner SRBMiner brings significant performance boost for all of AMD’s HBM memory based GPUs, namely the Radeon Vega56, Vega 64, Vega FE and the latest Radeon VII with HBM2 video memory. The performance boost for these video cards can be up to about 15%, so definitely worth upgrading any mining rigs with the newly released miner for the extra hashrate you will be getting… and that apparently goes for all of the supported algorithms! To take advantage of the extra performance boost you need to play around with the new parameter tweak_profile checking the level of tweak profile that your GPUs can handle and applying it. Apparently the improvement is based on memory timings modification thanks to the work of Eliovp and his useful AMD Memory Tweak Tool.

SRBMiner V1.8.4 Full Cangelog:
– Performance increase for Vega56/64/Fe/Vii up to 15%!
– Minimum for ‘main_pool_reconnect’ is now 60 seconds instead of 180
– Added new cmd parameters: –disabletweaking, –cgputweakprofile
– Added new config parameter: tweak_profile
– Minor bug fixes

VulkanXMRMiner is a new GPU miner that is based on Vulkan and SPIR-V technology and not OpenCL, like most other AMD miners out there, so it should work on any Vulkan 1.0 compatible device: AMD, Intel or Nvidia. VulkanXMRMiner is available for both Linux and Windows and it requires Vulkan support installed with a recent video drivers in order to function. The miner supports Monero (XMR) with its newest variant CNv4 (CryptoNightR) as well as Wownero (CryptoNightV8), Aeon (CryptoNight Light) and TurtleCoin (CryptoNight Turtle) as well as other crypto coins that are based on any of these algorithms. The miner is open source, however the already compiled binaries do come with a 1% development fee for the further development of the software. Feel free to share your settings and performance results should you try this Vulkan-based Cryptonight miner on your mining rigs…
