Our favorite AMD Radeon RX VEGA GPU miner for Cryptonight has been updated to version 1.0.0 and the new version brings support for new variations of the algorithm as well as some additional performance improvements. Prior to the latest version Cast XMR had support for CryptoNight, CryptoNight V7 and CryptoNight Heavy, the latest version also adds support for CryptoNight Lite, CryptoNightV7 Lite and CryptoNight Lite IPBC, so you are covered with pretty much all variations. There is also a new command line option --maxmem that can increase performance up to 3% by allocating the full memory of the video card, so you can experiment with that as well.

Cast XMR Supported CryptoNight Algorithms:
– CryptoNight: --algo=0
– CryptoNight V7: --algo=1
– CryptoNight Heavy: --algo=2
– CryptoNight Lite: --algo=3
– CryptoNightV7 Lite: --algo=4
– CryptoNight Lite IPBC: --algo=5

We are reminding you that Cast XMR is a closed source miner available only for Windows (64-bit) and that there is 1.5% developer fee included to support the further development of the software, so if you are not Ok with any of these you can go for an alternative miner solution. Cast XMR is still one of the fastest VEGA miners and the development track record justifies the dev fee in our opinion and you can of course also use the miner on other ADM Radeon RX GPUs with at least 4GB video memory.

The Cast XMR CryptoNight GPU miner for AMD RX VEGA 56/64 GPUs has just been updated to version 0.9.5 with added support for the CryptoNight Heavy algorithm used by coins like Sumokoin (SUMO) and Haven (XHV). The new miner version comes with 0.5% performance improvement for the CryptoNightV7 kernel that it also supports. You can also use Cast XMR to mine the old CryptoNight algorithm, though now with ASIC miners available you probably wouldn’t want to do it. You can use the --algo command line option to set the desired algorithm: 0 for CryptoNight, 1 for CryptoNightV7 and 2 for CryptoNight Heavy. As a reminder, Cast XMR is a closed source miner and comes with 1.5% developer fee included as a means to support the further development of the miner.

The Cast XMR CryptoNight GPU miner for AMD RX VEGA 56/64 GPUs has just been updated to version 0.9.2 with another important milestone – not needing the user to use the Blockchain AMD drivers for the optimal performance. The new version promises 99% the performance of the Blockchain Compute Beta driver achieved with the latest standard Radeon Driver 18.3.4 as well. This is definitely a relief for people still using the Blockchain drivers as they have some specifics in making them work properly and are not entirely bug free. We are reminding you that recently with the latest updates Cast XMR added support for the upcoming CryptoNightV7 POW fork for Monero (XMR) and other Cryptonight-based coins. Feel free to try the new version of Cast XMR with the latest 18.3.4 video drivers and report if you are getting the same performance on AMD Radeon RX VEGA GPUs as you are with the old Blockchain video drivers.
