Innosilicon just came up with two new ASIC miners, one is for Decred (DCR) and the other one is for SiaCoin (SC) joining in with other ASIC manufacturers that have already announced miners for these coins. The Innosilicon D9 DecredMaster ASIC miner is apparently capable of delivering 2.1 TH/s hashrate for mining Decred (DCR) with 900 Watts of power usage. The new Decred ASIC miner is priced at $6800 USD (54.487 LTC or 0.942194 BTC) without a power supply or shipping cost included and should start shipping from 27th April, 2018.

Innosilicon D9 DecredMaster Specifications:
– Hashrate: 2.1 TH/s (+/-8%)
– Power Consumption: 900W (+/-8%, normal mode, at the wall, with 93% efficiency PSU, 25°C temperature )
– Chip Type: D9 DecredMaster ASIC
– Dimensions: Single Tube, 310 mm(L)*130mm(W)*155mm(H)
– Net Weight: 3.6KG
– Operating Temperature: 0°C—85°C (device junction temperature)
– Network Connection: Ethernet

The Innosilicon S11 SiaMaster ASCI miner is apparently designed for Siacoin (SC) mining and should be capable of delivering 3.83 TH/s with a power usage of 1380 Watts. The price of the new Siacoin (SC) ASIC miner is currently set at $3500 USD (28.045 LTC or 0.484953 BTC) without a power supply or shipping cost included and should start shipping from 27th April, 2018 as well.

Innosilicon S11 SiaMaster Specifications:
– Hashrate: 3.83 TH/s (+/-8%)
– Power Consumption: 1380W (+/-8%, normal mode, at the wall, with 93% efficiency PSU, 25°C temperature )
– Chip Type: S11 SiaMaster ASIC
– Dimensions: Single Tube, 290 mm(L)*130mm(W)*155mm(H)
– Net Weight: 3.7KG
– Operating Temperature: 0°C—85°C (device junction temperature)
– Network Connection: Ethernet

Out of the blue Halong Mining have just announced a new ASIc miner called DragonMint B29 designed for the Blake256 algorithm supporting Decred (and other Blake256 coins?). The new ASIC should be capable of delivering 2.1 THS Blake256 hashrate with just 900 Watt power consumption. The not so great thing about this new miner however is the price of $10499 USD, even with included power supply and free shipping it is pretty expensive. The DragonMint B29 Blake256 ASIC miners should start shipping March 22-30 according to the official website if you order now while there is stock. There is an official link to a Decred pool with one of the ASIC devices mining on it posted by Halong Mining on Twitter, so you can check some stats here.

There is a short video of the DragonMint B29 Blake256 ASIC miner in action available from Halong Mining and in it they present it as a Decred (DCR) miner. Do not forget that there is also the Obelisk DCR1 ASIC miner that should be available this summer as well as Materia1 Decred ASIC miner that is still apparently in the works. So the competition for Decred (DCR) ASIC miners will be big apparently, but the more important question is if the network will be able to handle all of the ASIC hardware if you are not able to mine anything else apart from Decred (DCR).

It seems that there is a second company working on a Decred (DCR) ASIC miner, so it will not only be the recently announced Obelisk DCR1 apparently. There are two models announced for the moment from DCRasic – Materia 1 supposedly capable of offering 400 GHS (Blake-256) with 275 Watts of power and priced at $1099 and Materia1-TURBO to offer 3 THS (Blake-256) with 2.1 kW of power usage and a hefty price tag of $7500. Materia1 ASICs are still not available for order as their development is supposedly currently ongoing, but the pre-sale should start by the end of this month according to the available information. The delivery of the final product will most likely not be earlier than 6 months from the start of the sale, if the project is successfully funded and sometime in 2018 we might end up with multiple Decred (DCR) ASIC miner options.

We’ve had some concerns after the recent announcement of the Obelisk and so we do here, so while are going to keep an eye on the project with interest we advice a lot of caution should you decide to invest in any of the two options at the moment. Both companies haven’t delivered any ASIC miners so far and their projects are apparently both still in development and the risk that they may not deliver is real. For the moment both projects seem like high risk ones, but in the world of crypto often if the risk pays off it pays a lot.

For some, though not much, more details about the Materia1 Decred (DCR) ASIC miners…
