We are seeing a quite active development going on for the WildRig Multi AMD GPU miner since its relatively recent introduction (the successor of the WildRig Wild Keccak miner) with new algorithms and features being added constantly. The latest beta version of the WildRig Multi supports BCD, C11, Geek, HMQ1725, PHI, Renesis, Sonoa and Tribus algorithms with more coming along in the future – X16r, X16s, Xevan and Hex and a much needed benchmark mode is also coming soon apparently. It is currently the preferred AMD GPU miner for anyone interested in Bitcoin Dark (BCD) mining, though the performance on other supported algorithms is also very good.

Do note that the WildRig Multi currently supports only AMD GPUs with the newer RX series and VEGA supported out of the box and a separate download of binary kernels needed for older R9 series Fiji, Hawaii and Tonga. Unlike its predecessor the WildRig Multi miner does not support Nvidia GPUs, it will only work on AMD-based mining rigs. The WildRig Multi 0.11.6 Beta is currently only available for Windows, Ubuntu Linux and HiveOS as a closed source binary and with a 2% developer fee built-in by default, though it can be reduced.

WildRig multi is the successor of the WildRig miner that originally supported only the Wild Keccak algorithm on both AMD and Nvidia GPUs. The new WildRig Multi miner currently supports the relatively new Renesis algorithm as well as the hmq1725 algorithm only and apparently the sonoa algorithm is planned for an upcoming update. Do note that the WildRig Multi currently supports only newer AMD RX and Vega GPUs (the miner comes with pre-compiled binary kernels for Baffin, Ellesmere and gfx900 only) and will not work on older AMD or Nvidia GPUs. The WildRig Multi 0.10.7 Beta is currently only available for Windows as a closed source binary and with a 2% developer fee built-in.

WildRig is a relatively new closed source miner for both AMD OpenCL and Nvidia CUDA GPU miners for the Wild Keccak algorithm used by crypto coins such as Boolberry (BBR) or PURK. It seems to be performing better on Nvidia hardware compared to ccMiner’s performance for Wild Keccak, though on AMD it may not be faster than other alternative miners available. Do note that since this is a closed source miner it also comes with a 2% developer fee built-in, so that fact can make all the difference depending on your hardware if it is worth using the miner or not. Since it is a specific miner for a specific algorithm it offers some extra features and improvements that may make it more problem-free or useful for mining Wild Keccak, though there are not much coins out there that actually rely on this algorithm unfortunately. There are binaries available for Windows, Linux and Hive OS.
