New SRBMiner-MULTI Miner 0.4.5 With Support for Epic Cash (EPIC)

The latest SRBMiner-MULTI CPU and AMD GPU Miner version 0.4.5 adds support for the RandomX-based RandomEpic algorithm used by the Epic Cash (EPIC) crypto project for both solo and pool mining. There are also some performance improvements for the RandomX algorithm for CPUs as well as for Ethash and Ubqhash on AMD VEGA GPUs. – Added ‘randomepic’ algorithm (EpicCash RandomX) solo/pool
– ‘ethash’ and ‘ubqhash’ algorithm faster ~1.5% on Vega

– Fixed allocation of ‘RandomX’ dataset for 1GB pages (--randomx-use-1gb-pages parameter)
– Fixed an issue with MSR tweaks not being applied correctly
– Lowered ‘minotaur’ algorithm devfee to 2%
– Fixed crashing of ‘minotaur’ algorithm on AVX2 capable cpus
– ‘--send-stales‘ is now set per pool, it accepts true/false. Default is true.
– ‘send_stales’ parameter added to pools config file too
– ‘–gpu-intensity’ option can now be used in combination with auto gpu setup in cmd
– Improved gpu watchdog
– Added temporary parameter ‘--cnpool-bbc-fix‘ which disables workers if job diff >= 50
– Minor bug fixes

CPU Mining With the cpuminer-opt Free and Open Source Miner

It has been a while since we last covered the cpuminer-opt software, but the good news is that its development hasn’t stopped and this should probably be your go to miner as far as CPU mineable crypto coins are concerned. Do note that cpuminer-opt is an open source mining software for processor mining that supports a lot of algorithms and that list is growing, though you will most likely be using just a couple of them nowadays. The miner has optimizations for older and newer AMD and Intel processors, so make sure you try the binary that is intended for your processor for best results or feel free to experiment.

The alternative that often comes handy as far as CPU mining is concerned is SRBMiner-MULTI that supports fewer CPU mining algorithms, but some of them could be more optimized compared to cpuminer-opt, and also has support for RandomX algorithms (mostly targeted at AMD Ryzen CPU miners). SRBMiner-MULTI however is also a closed source miner with a built-in developer fee, even if it is a verified and a trusted one, some people still prefer to use open source mining software only s far as crypto and not only is concerned.

New SRBMiner-MULTI Miner 0.4.4 With Ethash and Ubqhash Support

The latest SRBMiner-MULTI CPU and AMD GPU Miner version 0.4.4 adds support for Ethash and Ubqhash crypto algorithms and you might want to give the miner ago for these two particular algorithms if you ave a Navi-based AMD GPU (Radeon RX 5500/5600/5700 series) due to optimized kernel from Wolf9466.
