cudaminer-latest-windows-build-from-source

In the last few days there was a big code contribution for CudaMiner from Alexey Panteleev from Nvidia and there is still no official binary release available, so we have compiled a windows binary from the latest source and you can download it below. One of the most useful new features that the latest code is the failover pool support, so you can add additional pools as backup by just including them in the command line as you would with the parameters for the first pool. Aside from failover pool support the latest release comes with some optimizations, better error handling and support of up to 32 GPUs, though we are yet to see 32 Nvidia GPUs on a single system. We have compiled the code with VS2012, so if you are getting errors when trying to run it you will have to download and install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 to resolve them. Do note that this is not an official release and a build from the latest source with a lot of new features being added, so there could be some bugs present and some things not working properly!

I wish you would also start posting links to the linux source for these new releases. It almost seems as though to you – linux does not exist and for those of us who use both Linux and Windows – we can tell you than Linux is a much more stable platform than Windows.

Jeff Jennings, we are actually posting links to the source… look at the post again… carefully.

We are posting compiled binaries for Windows as Linux users can usually compile from the source by themselves, unlike most Windows users.

Could you give a example of how to add a backup pool in command line?

An example with two pools would be like this, you can add more pool the same way:
cudaminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://eu.multipool.us:7777 -u yourworker.cuda -p password -o stratum+tcp://us-east.multipool.us:7777 -u yourworker.2 -p password

Thanks. Can you post a link on how to built cudaminer in Windows from latest source? There doesn’t seem to be any information on the website. I googled for hours.

Running Win7x64. Even with downloading and reinstalling C++ 2012 (x86 and x64 bit versions) I get “cudaminer has stopped working” as soon as it tries to start hashing, both with x86 and x64 scripts. Ideas?

sethnis, nothing special actually… you need the source and the dependencies available here, then just open the project in VS and build it: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=167229.0

Mike Stanton, it is compiled for Computer 3.5, so it might not work on older video cards.

I second the request for a simple step-by-step to compile from source in Windows.. I’ve tried using the MSVC++ project .sln file and get all sorts of bad path/reference errors, which I’m sure I could spend an hour or two weeding through, but would be nice if someone could post a 10-20 line step by step for us noobs. Thx!

Windows XP 32bit

Downloaded the c++ stuff. This build does work on my 64bit win8 rig.
