Antminer D3 Blissz Modified Firmware For Improved Performance

It is not a secret that the default firmware and even settings for many of the ASIC miners that come out from the manufacturers are hardly with the best/optimal settings and often they are also limited in what you can tweak yourself. So some more advanced users take the matter in their hands in order to further optimize for performance and or stability and reliability and even add extra features that help owners of the devices to get better profit or higher profit for example. One such case is the Antminer D3 Blissz Modified Firmware for the X11 ASICs being produces by Bitmain that you might want to give a try if you have even at least one of these ASIC miners.

The custom firmware promises up to 20% lower power usage and some extra features such as ASIC voltage settings per chain as well as the ability to overclock or underclock per chain as well as more control on fan operational speeds. There are some usability improvements in the interface to make it easier and clear to use as well as some slight performance improvements as well to make it more stable and reliable in terms of operation including cgminer binary optimizations.

Do note that this is an experimental custom firmware and using it might void your warranty. Also note that it comes with built-in 1.5% developer fee built-in, so do have that in mind, although the improvements if working as promised are well worth the dev fee. The good thing is that even if you don’t like something or it does not work as expected flashing back the original firmware is as easy as installing the custom one, so you can quickly give it a go and if you don’t like the results to get back to the original.

Hi all, I am thinking about taking the leap into bitcoin mining but first I wanted some advice from others who already partake in this. I have done my research and the only information that I cannot seem to find is whether or not it is still profitable to mine for bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, because all of the articles on this subject are from 2015. Does anyone mine for themselves and is it still profitable?

@Ali
Take 3 seconds to use Google instead of being lazy. It isn’t worth mining on your GPU, laptops are horrible for mining.

@Gaetano
It is worth mining on mid-high end GPUs, but not Bitcoin, you need ASICs. Generally Ethereum, Monero, Electroneum, or ZCash are good profit, depends on GPU. Use whattomine.com for profitability calculations.

I have an Antminer D3 and have been using this firmware. I have it on the lowest voltage and am getting 15 GH/s with 732 W at the wall. The fan noise reduction is significant too.

idf the antminer can be twaeked to mine x13, x14 and x15 then its mabe of use but the interface is not really that useful to me as underclock with make the earnings like $2 a day and overclocking may blow the boards
thx

^^ Didnt understand most of what you said, but i agree that other algo’s would be ideal… but hashing at 15GH/s with 735W seems counterproductive, especially when others are hashing double that speed. If you want less hash rate maybe mining isnt for you ?!?!

Don,

No one is getting 30 GH/s with the D3. The highest stable speed I have seen is 21 GH/s at 1300 to 1400 W. Electricity is $16/kWh where I live so it is better for me to run more effective with 75% or the speed and 50% of the power. Maybe economics is not for you !?!?!?

again, maybe mining isnt for you

Electricity is $16/kWh where I live. <– mining maybe isn't for your country.

don, maybe mining isn’t for you since efficiency is the name of the game not speed…

I meant to say $0.16/kWh. Before I moved I had $0.08/kWh power, if I still had power that cheap I would be running the miner at a higher voltage and frequency.

Since the owner has taken down the Antminer D3 Blissz firmware, may I know where i can download it elsewhere? Thanks.

The article is good, a little outdated now. I looked all over for this firmware. Eventually I found it here. I bought it and it’s working super well, running at 17ghs on about 7volts. Not sure how much power though. https://www.bidorbuy.co.za/item/346579193/Custom_Antminer_D3_Firmware_NO_FEE.html
