If you are a small crypto miner and not a large mining operation you may find it very hard to acquire up to date Bitcoin ASIC miners as the demand is still pretty high and the wait time is long. If you manage to find an ASIC miner is stock the chances are the price will be significantly higher as they are being resold with serious profit by people that prefer to make money this way instead of mining with the devices. At the moment there are pretty much 4 main manufacturers of Bitcoin ASIC miners that sell to end users and in small quantities and as you might expect they do not have anything in stock as the wait time is in months.

1. Bitmain AntMiner S9 (13.5 THS)
Bitmain is the most popular name among the ASIC manufacturers and probably the biggest one as well and even they are struggling to have stock of the AntMiner S9 ASIC miners they produce. It is interesting to note that the S9 has started shipping in the summer of 2016 and is still their top product. Bitmain has already sold all of their production up until the end of March, so when they release a new batch it will be scheduled for delivery sometime in April earliest.

2. Canaan AvalonMiner 821 (11 THS)
Canaan has been making their Avalon miners for years, though they were a bit slower in terms of specifications as compared to Bitmain and not as popular among end user miners. Their latest AvalonMiner 821 was announced in December last year and just started shipping its first batches for people that have preordered early. You can currently preorder AvalonMiner 821 for shipping/delivery in the second half of March, so you can probably get these a bit earlier than if you wait to preorder an AntMiner.

3. Ebang Ebit Miner E10 (18 THS)
Ebang’s Ebit miners are mostly popular in Asian countries, though they are trying to get to a wider market and their latest announcement of a 10 nm ASIC miner – the E10 made some waves. It is however an expensive device and still hard to get with a minimum purchase quantity of 20 units and all batches already sold through the end of March.

4. Halong Mining DragonMint 16T Miner (16 THS)
Halong Mining is a newcomer that just recently announced their plans to enter the Bitcoin ASIC miner market to try and fight with the market dominance that BitMain already has. They are still yet to start shipping their first devices in March this year and you cannot currently preorder units on their website with new batches probably to be available for April earliest.

The maker of ASIC Bitcoin miners TechnoBit, using various ASIC chips as a source for their miners, has announced a new interesting product based on Spondoolies Tech’s RockerBox ASIC. The device is designed to be small both in size and in terms of hashrate, but also to be quiet and power efficient. It is targeted at home miners that are mining just as a hobby as it will not be mining a lot of coins at the current Bitcoin network difficulty, but the good price of the miner makes it affordable and easy to acquire to also play out with ASIC miner if you haven’t done so yet. The Dice is delivered with set of Windows/Linux software (cgminer-based) that should allow the use of the device in two different ways – either as an entry level Bitcoin mining device to work with a mining pool or as a personal Bitcoin lottery device with a custom software and do solo mining testing your luck – every 10 minutes, you have a chance of 150/300,000,000 to get 25 BTCs.

TechnoBit DICE Specifications:

– Hash Rate: 150 GH/s at 0.75V and 125 Ghs at 0.69 V
– Power Efficiency: 0.7 Watt/GH/s on wall at 0.75V and 0.6 Watt/GH/s on wall at 0.69V
– Power Usage: 105-108 Watts at 150 GHS
– Voltage: DC 12V input, 9A
– Chip Quantity per unit: 1
– One 80mm quiet fan
– Noise: ~20 DB at 25°C ambient temperature
– Hashrate and VDD core voltage can be adjusted via cgminer command line
– USB connection
– 12V both PCI-E and barrel connectors
– Certificate Compliance: FCC/CE

You can say that the TechnoBit Dice can be a better alternative to BitMain’s U3 ASIC miner. The Dice is more power efficient and provides higher hashrate and you can buy it in the form of a single unit, unlike BitMain who had a minimum order quantity of 20 units while the miner was available for sale on their website. TechnoBit’s Dice will start shipping on December 18th and you can currently pre-order a single unit with a price of 78 EURO with additional 8% discount if you order 10 units, though it is not a very wise idea to go for 10 or more of these for personal use. If you want to have the same power efficiency and higher hashrate you might want to take a look at the bigger Spondoolies Tech ASIC miners that use more than just one RockerBox ASIC chips.

Do you remember the 19.2 MHS Scrypt and 520 GHS SHA-256 Dual Mode ASIC that we have reported about being available for pre-order form a Chinese seller. We have expressed our doubts about that product and it turns out it will not be available by the end of this month, though the seller claims it is something that Gridseed is currently working on. So we might actually see the product in some form available in a bit of time, but for now you can be rest assured it is not going to hit the market anytime soon. If we see the 19.2 GHS Scrypt mining ASIC in a few months however it might be a bit too late as other ASIC manufacturers are already promising shipping date for more powerful Scrypt miners to be out before the end of the year…

Below you can read the official quote from the seller as a response to the user interest in the 19.2 MHS miner that they have listed for pre-orders:

Dear customers,

Thank you so much for your interest in the super miner (520GH/19.2MH) shown at our store before, we decided to take it down before more information is available.

We got this product info from an agent of Gridseed. And we were told that the miner would be available at the end of March. So we put it at our store. Unexpectedly, it has generated a lot of interest and doubts alike in the mining circle. And we have received messages from a lot of customers, who are both interested and doubtful, which is very understandable, because the information was limited and no one has actually used this product yet.

And we have to clarify one fact: WE ARE NOT SCAMMERS. Firstly, we didn’t take any order of the product. None. Secondly, we have been receiving very positive feedbacks from our customers. Anyone who has worked with us knows that we are an honest store. Thirdly, it was not intended as a marketing ploy either. We saw new products coming, we put them at our store, that’s it.

So under these circumstances, with the attitude of being responsible to our customers, we decided to take it down until more information is available.

At the same time we are requesting for more info and wait until we know better.

Thank you so much.
