It Is All About BTC, LTC, ETH, DOGE, KAS mining as well as other alternative crypto currencies
The developers of Monero (XMR) have just disclosed that they have discovered and patched a critical bug that affects all CryptoNote-based cryptocurrencies, and allows for the creation of an unlimited number of coins in a way that is undetectable to an observer unless they know about the fatal flaw and can search for it. This major bug has been patched a while ago and it has been confirmed that the Monero network was never affected by it. All other active and affected CryptoNote coins, including CryptoNote themselves, Bytecoin, Forknote, Boolberry, DashCoin, and DigitalNote have apparently been notified about the possible issue prior to the public disclosure of the problem.
Note that, at this time, only Monero (XMR), Aeon (AEON), Boolberry (XBB), and Forknote have updated. This means that there could be potential abuse, though it may not necessarily happen with coins that have not patched and fixed the bug. As a result caution is advised for anyone using, trading, exchanging, or running services involving the following currencies affected by this issue: Bytecoin (BCN), DashCoin (DSH), DigitalNote (XDN). Just to clarify a possible misunderstanding by some users – DashCoin (DSH) is not the same as DASH as DASH is not CryptoNote, but X11-based!

The new fork of ccMiner by tsiv with support for the CryptoNight algorithm used by coins such as Monero (XMR) (source) has been updated to provide better performance – up to about 18% increase on GTX 750 Ti according to the author. Our tests have shown that on a GeForce GTX 750 Ti video card we are getting about 250 H/s in terms of hashrate, so definitely good improvement over the previous release. If you are mining CryptoNight coins such as Monero on Nvidia GPUs, then you should consider upgrading the miner software to the new version to get higher hashrate.

Today a new fork of the ccMiner software for Nvidia GPU mining was released with the addition of support for the CryptoNight algorithm used by coins such as Monero (XMR), the fork by tsiv is still an initial beta and is quite heavy and not optimized, but works. We have compiled and released a windows binary of the miner for anyone interested to try it out, our tests have shown that on a GeForce GTX 750 Ti video card we are getting about 205-210 H/s in terms of hashrate. If you run the miner on your main GPU your computer will most likely be very unresponsive after the miner starts, but this will not mean it is frozen.
Do note that the windows binary you can download below is compiled for Compute 3.0,3.5 and 5.0 cards (32-bit version only) in a single binary, so it will not work on older cards. If you are unsure what version of Compute does your video card support check the included GPU Compute Capabilities List file. It is also compiled with Visual Studio 2012, so if you do not already have Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 you will have to download and install it, otherwise you may be getting error for a missing DLL library.
