ccminer-1-7-6-tpruvot-decred

A quick update with a new Windows binary compiled from the latest ccMiner 1.7.6-git fork from tpruvot (source) with some improvements regarding the Decred (DCR), the latest pull request submitted by pallas that can provide up to 10% performance increase. The release below includes two versions of ccMiner, one is 32-bit binary for Windows that is compiled with CUDA 7.5 and with support for Compute 2.0 or newer Nvidia GPUs, and another that is 64-bit Windows binary compiled with CUDA 7.5 for Compute 3.5 or newer Nvidia GPUs. Do note that if you have a newer Nvidia video card you should use the 64-bit CUDA 7.5 release as it is providing better hashrate than the 32-bit CUDA 6.5 binary. It seems that the speedup works better for Linux than on Windows, the hashrate increase under Windows OS much less than the improvement under Linux.

Update: Binaries have been recompiled and should now provide a bit more hashrate for Windows users than the previous release.

ccminer-1.5.78-git-spmod-new

There has not been an update to the public ccMiner fork by SP of his Nvidia Maxwell optimized miner for quite some time, but he has just released some optimizations and so here comes a new Windows binary compiled from the latest Git source code of the ccMiner 1.5.78-git SP-MOD fork (source). The latest release comes with some small performance improvements in many algorithms, namely x11, x13, x14, x15, x17, nist5 and quark, so if you are mining any of these you might want to update. Have in mind that is also a CUDA 7.5 compiled release, the latest CUDA 6.5 release of SP’s fork of ccMiner was version 74. Do note that the SP-MOD fork of ccMiner is designed for Nvidia Maxwell GPUs such as the already available GTX 750, 750 Ti as well as the newer GTX 960, GTX 970, GTX 980 and GTX 980 Ti and GTX Titan X. The Windows binary release we have made available here is with support for Compute 5.0 and Compute 5.2 GPUs or with other words only for Maxwell-based Nvidia video cards compiled with CUDA 7.5 and VS2013.

ccminer-1-7-2-tpruvot

Version 1.7.2 of tpruvot’s ccMiner fork source) for GPU mining on Nvidia-based video cards has been released and it comes with official support for Vanillacoin (VNL) as well as Decred (DCR) support. Below you can find compiled Windows binaries to try out the mining them, both are Blake256-based, but with some different requirements such as the need to use longpoll and getwork, and no support for stratum for Decred for example. There are two versions available, the 32-bit one is with support for older Compute 2.1 and 3.0 GPUs while the 64-bit version is for the newer Compute 3.5, 5 and 5.2 cards. We have tested the new release on GTX 970 and the results are slightly better at about 1.35 GHS (with the 64-bit miner) than what we are getting with the cgminer fork for Decred that relies on OpenCL that is also compatible with Nvidia cards. The ccMiner fork might be helpful to people that are having very high CPU usage with cgminer that results in lower mining performance, though the CPU load is still not that low even with ccMiner. Also the use of ccMiner for mining Decred could result in less rejected shares from the pool and no weird errors as some people are experiencing with cgminer, so if you are mining DCR on Nvidia with cgminer, then you should try with ccMiner as well.
