The latest zealot/enemy-1.15a (z-enemy) from Dk and Enemy was released soon after the previous version 1.14 was made publicly available and it brings more performance improvements as well as a support for a new mining algorithm. The hashrate has been further increased with about 1 to 5% for the following algorithms: X16, X17, HSR, Renesis, Xevan, Sonoa, Aergo, Poly, Phi1612. With these performance improvements z-enemy might once more be the fastest X16 miner out there, though for Renesis, another recently added algorithm the latest T-Rex miner is still faster in terms of performance.

The new z-enemy 1.15 has also added support for the new HEX mining algorithm that has been announced just a few days ago as introduced by the XDNA project. The working principle of HEX is calculating the block hash with a pseudo-random sequence of 16 different algorithms (kernels): BLAKE / BMW / GROESTL / JH / KECCAK / SKEIN / LUFFA / CUBEHASH / SHAVITE / SIMD / ECHO / HAMSI / FUGUE / SHABAL / WHIRLPOOL / SHA2. The latest public release of z-enemy-1.15a has a fix for the difficulty and allows you to use maximum intensity of up to 25 in order to further increase the performance of HEX with another +7% to +15% if your GPUs can handle the extra load properly. If you are looking for new coins using new mining algorithms, then XDNA and HEX might be an interesting choice for you, though XDNA is actually not a new coin release, it has been available for a while, just the HEX algorithm is new.

The T-Rex miner is one of the newer GPU miners out there and it is an interesting option for Nvidia mining rig owners that are looking for profitable new coins based on less popular mining algorithms. Since we last covered the miner there have been some new additions of the supported mining algorithms, namely x16r, x16s and renesis along with some performance improvements in 0.5.7 for a few extra percent of performance in renesis, hsr, x16r, x16s, x17 and c11.

Performance wise we were a bit surprise that the X16R and X16S algorithms are not only now slower, but in fact at times may be even a bit faster at times compared to the latest z-enemy miner 1.14, at least what the miner reports. Also the performance for mining Renesis (RESS) is better than the official fork of ccminer for that algorithm, so you might want to check it out if you still haven’t done so.

Finally, just a reminder that T-Rex is a closed source miner and that there is 1% development fee built-in and you need to have a recent video driver installed as the binaries for both Linux and Windows are compiled for CUDA 9.1/9.2.

The latest update of the z-enemy to version 1.14 comes with nice performance boost in the different supported algorithms along with some slight fixes and improvements. You can expect up to 10% percent increase in the X16 algorithms, up to 15-25% for Tribus, about 10% for X17, C11, PHI1612, Aergo, Sonoa as well as about 5% for Xevan, Phi, Poly. The latest version is available for CUDA 9.1 and 9.2 for both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows versions as well as CUDA 9.1 an CUDA 9.2 binaries for Linux (Ubuntu and Hive OS). Do note that for maximum performance it is recommended to have the latest drivers installed (ver. 398+). We remind you that z-enemy is a closed source miner available only as a binary release and it contains a 1% developer fee built-in to support further software development.
