ethminer-genoil-1-1-6-pre-nicehash-stratum

Time for a new Windows binary of the latest pre-release version of Genoil’s ethminer 0.9.41 fork 1.1.6 (source). This time the focus is the addition for support of Nicehash’s Ethereum stratum implementation with extranonce subscribe for optimum performance when mining altcoins based on the Dagger-Hashimoto algorithm such as Ethereum (ETH). The binary is compiled with CUDA 8.0, supports both Nvidia CUD and AMD OpenCL mining modes, and is a pre-release version for testing the newly implemented features, you should not expect hashrate increase, though this version should do well when used with NiceHash, so you are welcome to test the new feature and report any issues you encounter. We have already done some comparison on what to expect selling your DaggerHashimoto (Ethash) GPU hashrate at NiceHash with the current price and mining directly for Ethereum and then selling the Ether coins for BTC. The results are below and it seems that even with the current low exchange rate as compared to what it was some days ago before the DAO hack it is still more profitable to mine ETH directly and sell it for BTC.

120 MHS mining hashrate ~ 1 ETH per Day:
– Ethereum Mining – 0.0159 BTC/Day
– Nicehash DaggerHashimoto – 0.0128 BTC/Day

I doubt if I still have to use old driver for better performance in Windows 10, or now works with the new drivers.

Should work on Windows 10, however the performance might be lower than on Win 7/8.x. Don’t think there is a driver to fix the performance on Win 10 yet…

Hello, is there any way to install Cuda 8 without without being affiliated to Nvidia developper program?
To download cuda 8 it seems that I need to register my company and cuda app.
Many thanks.

CUDA 8.0 is currently a RC, when the final version is available it should be available for free download by anyone.

I get 4.17MH/s with a GTX1080 on this version, or maybe 2x that as it looks like 2 samples every second are reported like this:
m 13:30:44|main Mining on PoWhash #b2f27f91 : 4.17MH/s [A0+0:R0+0:F0]
m 13:30:45|main Mining on PoWhash #b2f27f91 : 4.17MH/s [A0+0:R0+0:F0]

Strange because the GPU core is showing maxed but power utilisation remains low and so does heat, meanwhile the pc is sluggish to use as if the GPU is fully utilised.

Pascal GPUs have issues with driver for mining Ethereum under Windows, you need to use Linux to get them mining with their actual hashrate. They work fine for other algorithms though, so if mining on Windows you might want to mine something else like Lyra2REv2, LBC or SIA where Pascal does very well.

I am not able to duplicate OPs mining rate with single GTX 1080 setup,

I have tried on Windows 7, with CUDA 8 RC, download version or compiled version ethminer 1.1.6 or 1.1.7. The computer simply crashed right the way with error after taking 96% DAG.

After Compiling ethminer with CUDA 8 in Ubuntu 14, Max I can reach is 23MH.

Hopefully, OP can shine some light how you achieve this? with 5xGTX 1080? With some parameter tweaks? with different mining fix to the tool that has not been checked in? Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

From the command log, looks like OP is using 5x GTX 1080 for mining, since it says cudaminer 0-4.

Then this article is a little misleading.

The screenshot was from a mining rig with 6x GTX 970 GPUs running at about 120 MHS total hashrate.

Lot of dropping peers with New Ethminer 0.9.41-genoil-1.1.6 pre-release Windows Binary.

Cache=4096 resulted in 6GB within couple of minutes and almost freezing PC. Also lotttt of peer errors (hash train invalid, download canceled, bad peer etc.) and takes up to couple of minutes before it go on again.
cache=1024 resulted in 3GB ram within couple of minutes but more stable (just few peer errors).
For both options HDD usage contineously 100% (WD Enterprise 160MB/s 128MB cache server disks!!) even when it couldn’t connect to peer.
Network is around 1-2Mbps.
System performance monitor let see geth does a hugh amount of writings in roaming\getg\xx.log and .db files :/

Almost 2 days running and keeps on “Imported new state entries”. Couple of times cleaned and restarted, but after a while it loops into some situation where pending counts down and suddenly short time of nothing and from 1700 increasing to 3600, sometimes 10,000!!!???!!!!

Near all have “retry” while I have 60Mb’s cable internet which is (testing software) very stable.
It more and more seems like a virus software… it keeps freezing your PC and hdd… while when your start thinking ” yeah.. nearby done” it jumps from 1600 to 5000 again counting down.. grrrr…
Same version started on my laptop.. i7 16GB memory samsung 850 1TB pro (1400mb’s disk)… yeah it’s faster but the same over here.. at “pending=1” it just stops and suddenly jumps to 20000 again.
Also couple of times cleaned up, but without result.
geth folder is now 32GB large.
Anyone???????

Hi, I can get it running, I have two AMD OpenCL graphics cards on my laptop and a quad-core CPU but the miner says 0.00MH/s and GPU-Z shows zero load on both GPU’s. I am running the miner in -ES mode (on stratum). Minergate shows no workers online when the miner is running, however the miner is finding new work even at zero H/S.

…any ideas what isn’t working?

UPDATE : I think my GPU doesn’t have enough onboard memory because it will not load the DAG file. Someone said the min requirement is 4GB or it will not work…. ;/
