It Is All About BTC, LTC, ETH, DOGE, KAS mining as well as other alternative crypto currencies
There have been some updates in the Heavycoin GPU miner that bring out extra performance, so we have compiled a windows binary from the latest source. The results are quite good and we do recommend you to update the miner if you are still using the older version to mine HVC on AMD graphic cards. With the older release that we have compiled and published here we’ve got around 5.1 MHS from a single Radeon R9 280X GPU and with the latest binary we are getting up to about 7.2 MHS with the same hardware, so definitely a very good improvement performance wise. Below you can download cgminer 3.7.3 with support for HVC GPU mining compiled for windows.

Nice, any way you can post the settings for the 280x I noticed that you used Intensity 3.
Thanks!

The 280X cards are running at 1000 GPU / 1500 VRAM, the Intensity value does not seem to affect much the result with HVC like ti does with Scrypt for example…

Thanks, I’m using the following:
ASUS 280x for 9Mh/s temperatures are under 40C.
-I 8 –gpu-fan 70 –gpu-engine 1210 –gpu-memclock 1100
Power draw on (4) 280x is 512 Watts!! with scrypt is 1,150W O_0

This simply means that the full processing power of the GPU is not fully utilized, so there could be more room for improvement and even better performance…

I have a 6870 and a 5750 on my system and they run cgminer 24/7 for other coins. Why is it not generating the bin file?
Thanks for any help

Is there a thread where the author of this version participates?

Everton, the miner may not yet be able to work with older generation of cards for HVC mining like in your case. You can try setting the device to the newer 6870 only to see if it will work with it only.
chavv, no idea, you can check on bitcointalk for such topic…
