It Is All About BTC, LTC, ETH, DOGE, KAS mining as well as other alternative crypto currencies
If you thought that recently announced Baikal Giant-N Cryptonight ASIC miner is powerful and is going to kill the Cryptonight GPU mining you might want to reconsider. Bitmain has just announced their response in the form of the Antminer X3 Cryptonight ASIC miner and it is much more powerful than what Baikal Miner is offering. The Bitmain Antminer X3 promises 220 KH/s hashrate for Cryptonight at 550 Watts of power usage, so 11 times more powerful than the Giant-N at roughly 2 times higher price and shipping the second part of May. By the time these devices start shipping Monero (XMR) will most likely not be mineable anymore with Cryptonight ASIC miners along with some other coins that have announced plans to fork in order to remain ASIC resistant, so all the extra hashpower will need to go somewhere else.
At a price of $11999 USD per device and limited to just 1 unit per order Bitmain is accepting only BCH and USD payments for the miners. The second batch of Antminer X3 is planned to start shipping a month later, so in the second part of June with a significantly lower price of $7599 USD, though who knows how many Cryptonight coins might fork to ASIC resistant implementation by then. Just to be on the safe side be careful with the Cryptonight ASICs from Baikal and form Bitmain in order not to end up with a piece of useless hardware that can hardly mine anything profitable, even with its very high performance.

Can you even reach roi before the algorithm change?
Sounds like their trying to offload a bunch of worthless paperweights onto under informed patrons.
So sick of there guys.

bitmain are scam artists and a complete joke. Do not waste your money on them!

Probability ZERO of reaching ROI before the algorithm change – unless Bitmain (and Baikal) wait for the algorithm to change THEN release these.
At which point the Monero folks will probably just change the algorithm AGAIN in another month or two at most.
It would be funny if these turn out to be for the “changed” algorithm that’s due to show up in a couple weeks or so, then Monero changed back to the CURRENT algorithm.

Interesting times these days.. I just hope the community will stand strong against this capitalistic move…
People need to understand that ASICs are leading into only one direction: 1 % control everyting (Network + coins) and 99% who have nothing.
All you need to do is taking a look at BTC and the few big miners and you should realize the threat that’s approaching here.

1 miner per person, i dont think thats “1% control everything”
I’m considering buying this miner, the price is though

Expect + € 2600 in customs clearance …. My advice does not make you have Bitmain because the difficulty Cryptonight will increase severely it will do exactly as with the Dash and D3 Bitmain, flee this company!

If Bitmain sold just 10.000 X3, they will output 2.2 TH. Two times the total actual cryptonight Hashrate; And Revenue will cut 66%
The Same happened with D3
Buy Antminer X3

There are 5 different reasons why Bitmain has jacked the prices so high, below are a few theories:
Bitmain jacked prices up knowing that if they can get people to buy and bitcoin continues to correct they will still be alright in the end with a massive profit.
Bitmain jacked prices up because the chips used were more expensive and also thought they could price it comparatively to the Baikal miner’s hashing rate.
Bitmain saw how many people bought the D3 and A3 and wants to see how far they can take it.
Bitmain chose this time to jack prices because it will be the very first miner for CryptoNight and they wanted to release the miner before Monero confirms a fork due to the other news of Baikal miner that was also launched recently.
Bitmain knows that people will spend their bitcoin now rather than later due to the correction. Perhaps Bitmain thinks we’re stupid? Who knows.

Other info chip supplier of Bitmain TSMC manufactures and sells chips in 5nm since December 2016 and 3nm very soon … So technologically Bitmain sell very old generations of chips :( And certainly keep the news that consume much less for their park and in two years they will “invent” new ASIC W3 or X118 chips with “new” chips for us but not for them … business is business!
