New Innosilicon A6+ LTC Master 2.2 GHS Scrypt ASIC Miner

Litecoin (LTC) has been doing pretty well lately and no wonder that with the returning user interest in one of the oldest altcoins out there, ASIC manufacturers are also trying to attract new customers for their improved mining hardware. Here comes the new Innosilicon A6+ LTC Master ASIC miner wth PSU included promissing 2.2 GHS Scrypt hashrate at 2100W of power usage ready for shipping at a price of $3000 USD (or 0.613874 BTC or 45.034 LTC with the current prices). Innosilicon A6+ is an enhanced version of last year’s Innosilicon A6 LTC Master with improved performance and energy efficiency. The new Scrypt ASIC miner almost doubles the hashrate with just half of the power usage increase and it is interesting to note that Innosilicon still sells the old A6 miner at a price of $2000 USD without PSU for 1.23 GHS hashrate with 1500W power usage (significantly less than the initial price of $6300 USD it had when announced). Unfortunately running the numbers for the new miner through an LTC mining calculator, while profitable, the profit you can currently get over the power cost isn’t really attractive to really make you want to pull the trigger and get the miner.

Obelisk GRN1 ASIC Miners for GRIN Up For Pre-Sale

Obelisk has started with SIA and Decred ASIC miners with a bit of controversy back in 2017, and now they are apparently planning to extend their offers with new GRIN ASIC miners for later this year as it seems this is the new hot thing for ASIC miners – the GRIN’s Cuckatoo31 algorithm. The company has announced the start of a pre-sale for their new GRN1 miner that comes in three form factors: a traditional form factor (GRN1), compact form factor (GRN1 Mini), and an immersion form factor (GRN1 Immersion). The Obelisk GRN1 miners are designed for Grin’s Cuckatoo31+ hashing algorithm and they will NOT Work on the existing Cuckaroo29+ or future Cuckatoo32+ algorithm implementations.

Obelisk will be manufacturing a maximum of 2,500 GRN1 units (60,000 chips), available in first-come, first-serve fashion. GRN1 Mini units count as 1/6th, and GRN1 Immersion units count as 2. Only 2,000 GRN1 units are available in this sale. The remaining 500 will be sold by Obelisk at market-price when production is completed in October. This sale will close on May 3, 2019. Obelisk expects to ship orders in October 2019. Below you can find the estimated specifications and prices for the upcoming ASIC miners… as you can see the prices are pretty steep, though the hashrate they deliver currently is quite profitable, but who knows what will happen by the time you get the hardware in your hands. As usual with any pre-orders and specifications announced prior to actual products in existence you should be extra careful as very often the final specs are not the same as initially announced, meaning that you could easily get lower hashrate and/or higher power consumption. Though there are cases that the final specs may be better then initially announced as well, you should still proceed with caution and also check other alternatives such as the upcoming GRIN ASIC miner from Innosilicon.

Blackminer F1 Mini is an Upcoming Single Chip FPGA Miner

Blackminer F1 Mini is a new single-chip FPGA miner from Hashaltcoin that supports the same large number of crypto algorithms as their larger multi-chip Blackmienr F1 and Blackminer F1+ FPGA mining devices. The new Blackminer F1 Mini FPGA miner is a great entry level device that comes with a price of $179 USD and is available for pre-order with delivery time set for May 5, 2019. The the first batch of the F1 mini is only 300 units and it comes with no power supply or heatsink in order to reduce the shipping cost, these you need to provide yourself. You need an ATX power supply (6-pin PCI-E), DC 12V 6A or 12V 8A power supply (50W typical power usage) as well as a pretty standard cooler for Intel LGA115X CPU that should be compatible with the design. We have not tested any hardware from Hashaltcoin yet, though the F1 mini does sound like a nice and affordable FPGA miner to try and experiment with before going for any of their larger products…
