NiceHash has made their new platform available in public beta for everyone interested to check and try it out before it goes out of testing and replaces the currently available platform for selling and buying crypto hashrate. The most notable new features are the new Rig Manager, a new Linux-based NiceHashOS and an integrated cryptocurrency exchange right into the platform itself. Do note that for the duration of the beta period, the entire platform runs on testnet, so you will get paid in TBTC and not in real BTC. Testnet coins don’t have any real value and exist only for testing purposes, you can get some to play around with the platform thanks to a number of available faucets. You can find more details on that in the How to use testnet PDF with links for TBTC faucet, but also for some altcoins also supported in the beta of the platform.

The new NiceHashOS is a simple Linux-based operating system for mining with support for all of the available crypto algorithms on the NiceHash platform. You can put the OS on a USB flash drive and boot directly for it, eliminating the need to use a dedicated hard drive or an SSD drive on each mining rig. The new NiceHashOS beta apparently supports TDP and manual clock settings, though no mention about manual fan control in the released NiceHash OS Beta User Guide PDF. The OS can be accessed locally as well as remotely via SSH and configuration is being done via editing various configuration files, the mining operating system is based on Tiny Core Linux and there is no GUI available by default.

You need to make a new registration here in order to try out the new NiceHash Beta…

It has been quite a while since we have seen an update of the z-enemy Nvidia GPU miner. Up until now updates were mostly focused on performance improvements and new algorithm being added, but the new major version 2.0 of the z-enemy introduces a new way to manage and monitor the miner. There is a new HTTP JSON API (see the included json_api_help.txt file for the details), available at port 4067 by default as well as a web control panel with real-time monitoring and charts. The user interface is responsive and should be looking well on most mobile phones and tablets and not only on computers, it is informative in terms of stats and graphs, looks nice and works pretty well, so you might want to check it out if you are mining altcoins using X16-based algorithms or anything else that z-enemy supports.

The latest z-enemy version 2.00 is available for CUDA 9.1, 9.2 and 10.0 for 64-bit Windows versions as well as CUDA 9.0, CUDA 9.1, CUDA 9.2 and CUDA 10 binaries for Linux (HiveOS, PiMP OS, EthOS & Ubuntu). Make sure that you have the respective recent video driver version installed for the CUDA version you want to use – 388+ for 9.1, 397+ for 9.2 and 411+ for CUDA 10.0, though 415+ is advised for the best performance. We remind you that z-enemy is a closed source miner available only as a binary release and it contains a 1% developer fee built-in to support further software development.

The latest TT-Miner Version 2.2.4 comes with three new mining algorithms supported as well as some bug fixes to help improve the miner stability. The newly added algorithms are PROGPOWH, a modified ProgPoW Rev.0.9.2 for the HYDNORA project, PROGPOW092 ProgPoW Rev.0.9.2 for SUM (Solidum Network) as well as TETHASHV1 for the TEO project. If you are interested in any of the newly added algorithms you might want to check out the projects that have implemented them as well.

TT-Miner supports ProgPOW, ProgPOWH, ProgPOW092, TETHASHV1, PROGPOWZ, Ethash, UBQhash, MTP, LYRA2REV3 and Myriad-Groestl algorithms on Nvidia GPUs and is available for Windows only, a closed source miner with 1% developer fee for all of the supported algorithms.
