US Marshals to Auction The Last 44K BTC from Silk Road

The U.S. Marshals are auctioning approximately 44341 Bitcoins, the last remaining Bitcoins in its custody in connection with the criminal conviction of and civil forfeiture action against Ross Ulbricht and Silk Road.

The auction will take place during a six-hour period Nov. 5 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. EST. Bids will be accepted by email from pre-registered bidders only. The bitcoins are being offered in 22 blocks: 21 blocks of 2,000 bitcoins and 1 block of just over 2,341 bitcoins. The winning bidder(s) will be notified Nov. 6.

The registration period starts Oct. 19 and runs until noon Nov. 2, at which time potential bidders must have completed all registration requirements. Registration documents that were submitted for the Marshals’ previous bitcoin auctions are not valid for this auction; interested bidders must submit new registration documents to be considered for this auction.

Updated Windows Binary of the ccMiner 1.5.70-git Fork by SP for Maxwell

Here comes a new update in the form of a Windows binary release compiled from the latest Git source code of the ccMiner 1.5.70-git SP-MOD fork by SP optimized for the latest Maxwell-based video cards (source). The latest release focuses mostly on fixes and there could be some slight performance increase due to adjustments of the default intensities for different algorithms if you are not using custom intensity levels. Do note that the SP-MOD fork of ccMiner is designed for Nvidia Maxwell GPUs such as the already available GTX 750, 750 Ti as well as the newer GTX 960, GTX 970, GTX 980 and GTX 980 Ti and GTX Titan X. The Windows binary release we have made available here is with support for Compute 5.0 and Compute 5.2 GPUs or with other words only for Maxwell-based Nvidia video cards compiled with CUDA 6.5 and VS2013.
