scryptguild-mining-pool

Earlier this month we have mentioned the announcement of the ScryptGuild pool in their Alfa stage with invite only access and now the pool has moved to Beta stage and is open for free registrations. ScryptGuild is a pool with multiple alternative crypto currencies and an automatic switching algorithm that allows you to mine the most profitable crypto at the moment. It is similar to Multipool and the likes of it, however ScryptGuild offer some extra features that make it more attractive. For example you can set only one mining pool and switch to different cryptos to be mined on per worker basis directly from the web interface, there is also an option to directly sell your alternative coins that you have mined for BTC. Not to mention that the list of alternative cryptos is more up to date based on the more profitable coins at the moment and not keeping coins that you will probably not want to mine anymore like in Multipool for example.

ScryptGuild uses PPLNS system for distributing miners earnings or Pay per Last N Shares. This is a payment method which does not allow for pool hopping because it pays for work done previously, rather than paying for work based on the concept of “rounds”. ScryptGuild applies payments to the 5 most recent shifts: The active shift, and 4 recently finished (“open”) shifts. Payments are applied on a per coin basis, using your score on that coin vs the total pool score on that coin. Shifts are closed every hour, one minute after the hour. The pool fee is 2% and the current hashrate of the pool is already about 2150 MHS. You can set the minimum difficulty level starting from 16 and going up for each worker independently, so it is also a goo d place for low hashrate miners such as Nvidia-based GPUs or small Scrypt ASICs like the USD DualMiners.

We have been using the pool for a few days already and like the stability and ease of use, along with the useful extra features that it offers, including the direct sell for BTC from the pool with a slightly higher fee than if you move your coins to an exchange and sell them there (you can still do that if you wish). So we have said good-bye to Multipool and have switched to ScryptGuild completely for our main alternative profit based mining pool. And our backup pool for a while already is LTC Rabbit, though at the moment the extra altcoin bonus that this pool offers is rarely seen and most of the time we are mining LTC directly there instead of alt coins. Still good for a backup pool though as it is stable and runs reliably, so we would still recommend it as a good backup option. The combination between the two pools works like a charm for us, so we do recommend to try it out yourself if you still hasn’t done so.

medetereniancoin-crypto-coin

Mediterraneancoin (MED) is a derivative version of Bitcoin/Litecoin using a new proof-of-work algorithm called HybridScryptHash256. HybridScryptHash256 integrates the best of Hash256 and Scrypt algorithms (respectively the core Proof of Work algorithms of Bitcoins and Litecoins), allowing the reuse of the less powerful ASICMiner Block Erupter devices. The idea is to allow all the users of USB Block Erupter, Bitmain AntMiner U1 and similar small ASIC devices to mine an altcoin without having “whales” coming and disrupt mining. With HybridScryptHash256, each Hash256 mining iteration with an erupter is encapsulated between two Scrypt stages (a memory intensive algorithm whose parameters depend on the current difficulty). In this way, a good amount of CPU power (or maybe even GPU power) is necessary for each Hash256 dedicated hardware. If a miner owns a lot of Hash256 computing power, in order to mine Mediterraneancoins, he will need also a corresponding CPU power. If the correspondent CPU power is not available, then the Hash256 computing power is automatically limited. And since the proof-of-work algorithm is completely different from Hash256 and Scrypt algorithms, in order to mine, you need a modified miner.

scryptcc-scrypt-cloud-mining-service

Scryptcc is a new Scrypt-based Cloud Mining Service where you can purchase KHS and they will start mining alternative crypto currencies for you in the cloud right away. This service is really new and very similar to what CEX.io is for Bitcoin cloud mining, however here you re purchasing Scrypt processing power and not SHA-256 like with CEX. It seems that the service is just a few days old and although there is some polishing that needs to be made it seems fully operational and working with thousands of KHS already available for purchase. scryptcc offers both cloud mining and exchange for trading KHS, just like you can do on CEX.io with GHS and BTC.

scryptcc-income-calculator

In this exchange you can purchase KHS for scrypt-based cloud mining in a private pool, and the earnings you get are also calculated in BTC. There is no detailed information yet or ability to control what alternative crypto currencies the pool mines for you, but it should mine based on profitability such as DOGE or LTC for example (in the future there should be an option for the user to choose specific coin to be mined). The current lowest exchange rate for a 1 KHS is 0.00144390 BTC and according to the calculator that the service provides for checking your profitability you should be able to get a return of investment for about 180 days or half a year if you purchase KHS at that price. The good thing about Scrypt mining is that there are not yet serious ASIC devices on the market and there are already a lot of alternative cryptos to mine, so longer term investment in Scrypt could mining seems more reasonable than in SHA-256 cloud mining power.

We just started testing the scryptcc cloud based Scrypt mining service by purchasing a few KHS to test with, so we’ll keep you updated to what is happening and how things are going. Hopefully we are seeing something that will give some good alternative options for people that want to have access to higher Scrypt hashrate without having to deal directly with the hardware themselves. After you transfer some BTC to the service (only 3 network confirmations are required), you can purchase some Scrypt cloud hashrate on the exchange and the KHS you purchase are credited to your account and should start earning mining rewards every 10 minutes shortly. We just got our first small mining reward in BTC as you can see on the screenshot above that we reinvested into KHS. So we advice you to give the service a try with some small amount at first to see for yourself how things will be going as we decided to do. Have in mind that the service is still in Beta, so there could be some hiccups at first, but these will probably be dealt with quickly.
