nicehash-control-tool-in-action

There are people that are so much into crypto currencies that they follow all new launches and try to mine what they consider will bring them more profit, and then there are the people that just want to take it easy and get a good profit from mining without too much work required and risk. If you are in the second group and are mining with Nvidia GPUs such as the GTX 750 Ti, then you might want to check out a tool called NiceHash Control that can track what is the most profitable crypto algorithm to mine and to sell your hashrate at NiceHash. The tool does take into account your hardware and what hashrate it provides you with for each algorithm, as well as the current price for the various algorithms supported by NiceHash and starts and stops specific miner software to mine the most profitable algorithm at the moment. In the end you are getting paid for your hashrate in Bitcoins directly and you make a nice profit, without having to track exchanges and exchange rates or follow new coin launches all the time.

All of this however does take some tweaking and tinkering in order to configure the software and miner to work with your hardware, and since we already did play with it we have decided to give you a package already configured for single GTX 750 Ti card mining and that will mine the most profitable algorithm choosing between X11, X13, X15 and Nist5. We don’t believe that mining for Keccak or Scrypt-N on Nvidia GPUs will be very profitable, let alone if you are going to be using Scrypt or SHA256 where ASIC miners have already taken over. If you have more than a single GTX 750 Ti card just multiply the hashrate set for a single card in the config file by the number of cards in your rig. The good thing is that this tool actually does take into account the hashrate you get with various algorithms, so even if the NiceHash website says that X15 is the most profitable algorithm for the moment it may mine X11 or X13 on your system. The reason is that while X15 might be more profitable in general, the higher hashrate you get mining X11 with the bit lower price for it might still turn to be more profitable in your case, as even with higher price the X15 hashrate will be lower than the one you get with X11 or X13 for example. We have included the latest ccMiner fork with X15 support, so all that is left for you is to set your BTC payment address in the config and run the AUTOSTART.BAT file, unless you have to do some hashrate changes in the config as well based on your GPUs that is. You might also want to check out the Readme file for some extra information about the NiceHash Control. So far the tool is working pretty well, though it needs some more polishing, unfortunately it is only available for Windows, so Linux users are not able to take advantage from it.

genesis-mining-profitability-btc-payments

It seems we’ve been using Genesis Mining’s cloud mining services for two weeks already and have decided to do a short update on our experience with the service after our initial impressions form the service that we’ve shared earlier this month. You can see the list of transactions and payments we have received so far with 1 MHS worth of Scrypt hashrate at the service and the full hashrate set to BTC payments, so whatever the service has mined gets converted to Bitcoins and we get payed in BTC at the end of the day. As you can see from the numbers there are some days with better results than others, but you can get a good idea on what to expect as an average and be able to do the math multiplying the numbers for more megahashes if you are interested.

On a side note, the service as also started accepting DOGEcoin as a payment method for hashrate, though if you convert the 1 MHS price of $180 USD to DOGE the amount you get is quite big – 561909 DOGE (over half a million). And of course you already have the option to allocate the cloud mining hashrate that you purchase for mining DOGE in the control panel should you be interested in that. Initially the prices that Genesis Mining had for the Scrypt cloud mining hashrate were quite good, but with the latest price drops of the Scrypt ASIC miners you could be able to purchase Zeus-based ASIC miners for half the price for the same cloud mining hashrate. So this is something to consider as well when thinking about the possibility to go for the easier way of cloud mining, where you will not have to deal with actual hardware installation and management, including power usage, heat and noise generated by actual Scrypt ASIC miners.

You can also use the following up to date promo code to get a 2.5% discount of the regular price nSO2TE should you decide to try out the service yourself.

It seems that our order for a ZeusMiner Blizzard has been finally shipped yesterday (Order #2054 ), so it seems that the company will most likely be able to do what they have promised. That however does not make the Blizzard an interesting buy other than for testing, and that is precisely why we did order the unit, so that we can review it and try the Zeus Scrypt ASIC chips. Meanwhile Zeus has announced they are going to e releasing a ZeusController image for Raspberry Pi with a web-based interface for their miners and apparently they are also working on offering miner hosting options for customers that request it. With the reports we are seeing on higher actual power consumption than what was previously announced as official specs, a hosted option may not be a bad option if the price is right.

Zeus also announced new prices for Batch 2 orders that are supposed to start shipping on June 15th, the new Hurricane and Thunder miners will also come with new and improved cases. But there is no word on optimized firmwares yet to help users get the best performance/power usage ratio. Also BATCH 1 customers will get an additional 10% off for one order from the second batch, and if you are already an existing BATCH 1 customer, you automatically qualify for the more free stuff If you place an order for the same amount of higher for BATCH 2. It is up to you do decide if it is worth ordering, for us, well we are waiting for our first miner to see how things are actually working.
