We have made another update of the complete packages based on the Miner Control tool for Nvidia GeForce GT 750 Ti and AMD Radon R9 280x GPUs with the latest changes taking place lately. The latest versions you can download from the links below include some updates and it also brings back the YAAMP pool support as it has apparently has becomes available again online after an announcement that it will be shut down permanently following a recent hack. The latest updates also include the most recent versions of SP-MOD’s ccMiner for Nvidia Maxwell as well as the sgminer fork with increased performance for Quark and Qubit with pre-compiled Binary Kernels for 280X. The two Miner Control tool packages use the latest fork of Miner Control from KBomba version 1.6.4.
To be ready to use the packages you just need to update the account settings for each pool to reflect your BTC payment address. Do note that the default configuration that we have set is mining from time to time for the author of the software (Miner Control) as a donation alternative, but you can change that setting should you wish to. The packages are ready to be used with either AMD Radeon R9 280X or Nvidia Geforce GTX 750 Ti cards, but you can also us the Nvidia package for other GPUs or more cards – what you may need to reflect however in the config file is the total hashrate and power usage. Since the AMD packages contains not only specific settings for AMD Radeon R9 280X, but also pre-compiled binary kernels specifically for that particular card if using it with other GPUs you will actually be getting lower hashrate, though n problem to use it with multiple 280X cards.

Nvidia has just announced their new GeForce GTX 980 Ti GPU, a model that should take the space in between GTX 980 and the Titan X both in terms of performance and in terms of price. The GTX 980 Ti is essentially a slightly stripped down version of the Titan X GPU with slightly less CUDA cores that are 2816 here and with a bit less TMUs – 176 units. The other significant difference in comparison with the Titan X is that the GTX 980 Ti comes with 6GB of video memory instead of 12 GB. The recommended end user price of the new GTX 980 Ti GPUs is $649 USD so it is significantly better priced as compared to the Titan X and considering that it should be showing a very similar performance it sounds like an interesting product not only for gaming, but for crypto mining as well.
So we are taking for a spin a single Nvidia GTX 980 Ti to compare it to the the GTX 980 and the Titan X GPUs using ccMiner 1.5.45 SP-MOD. Note that we are not using the latest version of ccMiner in order to compare the results in terms of hashrate on the other GPUs that we ran a bit ago. We’ve compared using the latest ccMiner as well and there is notable performance increase in some algorithms such as Quark, but for most others there is no significant difference. Just as a reference the GTX 980 Ti using the latest ccMiner 1.5.51 SP-MOD manages to provide a 23230 KHS hashrate for mining Quark, but as we’ve said there is not much of a difference with other algorithms. Other than that as you can see from the results the GTX 980 Ti GPU is very close in terms of performance as compared to the Titan X and much faster than the GTX 980. So if you are looking for a new high-end Nvidia GPU for gaming and crypto mining when not using your PC, then the GTX 980 Ti does seem like a great choice…

We have also removed the YAAMP pool support as it has apparently been taken down permanently this time after a recent hack, if it becomes available back online at a later time we may add back the support. The latest updates also include the most recent versions of SP-MOD’s ccMiner for Nvidia Maxwell as well as the new sgminer fork with increased performance for Quark and Qubit with pre-compiled Binary Kernels for 280X. WhirlpoolX support has been removed as currently there are no altcoins utilizing this algorithm available for mining, if we get some new coins that are profitable to mine we are going to bring it back again.
