scryptcc-scrypt-cloud-mining-service

The Scrypt cloud mining service Scryptcc was one of the first to start offering Scrypt cloud hashrate using GPUs for mining alternative Scrypt-based crypto currencies and paying its users in Bitcoin. The service was quite interesting when they’ve launched, but had some issues from the start and they were a bit slow in fixing things, but lately they seem to have improved. In fact we’ve seen some similar services come and go and this one is still here and without having some major hiccups like others had. The interesting thing was that up until recently they were still using only GPUs for mining Scrypt and thus the profitability was not good at all. However there is a new announcement that they have started adding Scrypt ASICs in their new data center and report that profitability has started to get better again. Currently the price of 1 KHS is ~0.000324 BTC or about 0.324 BTC per Megahash worth of Scrypt mining hashrate at the service, so definitely not the best price. According to the profit calculator available on their website buying 1 MHS of cloud mining hashrate at the moment you can expect to break even in about 152 days. This is not the best deal we’ve seen for sure, but not the worst either.

ccminer-1-0-x13-windows

There is now a new fork of ccMiner for Nvidia GPU miners available that adds support for X13 mining (this is not an official release). The fork of ccMiner by tsiv (source) adds X13 support with a performance that is just a bit lower than what Nvidia GPUs are offering in terms of X11 mining hashrate, though the hashrate could probably be further improved with some optimizations. We have compiled a windows binary of the new ccMiner fork with X13 support that you can download from the link below and try it yourself or you can compile it from source yourself. Our tests are showing that with it we are getting a hashrate of about 1700 KHS on an Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti video card and 3300 KHS on a GeForce GTX 780 Ti (non-overclocked cards).

Do note that the windows binary you can download below is compiled for Compute 3.0, Compute 3.5 and Compute 5.0 cards (32-bit version only), so it will not work on older cards. If you are unsure what version of Compute does your video card support check the included GPU Compute Capabilities List file. It is also compiled with Visual Studio 2012, so if you do not already have Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 you will have to download and install it, otherwise you may be getting error for a missing DLL library.

ccminer-compute-2-support

It seems that some people are having trouble figuring out which version of ccMiner they should you for mining on their Nvidia-based GPU. Below is a list of all of the Nvidia-based video cards and their Compute capabilities to help you figure it out depending on what video card you are using. Do note that the list does not include only the consumer Geforce series, but also Quadro and Tesla. You will find the cards that have at least Compute 2.0 capabilities as there is no way to currently make use of an older GPU than a one capable of supporting Compute 2.0 for mining with ccMiner. Furthermore you need to use a special build of ccMiner that comes with support for Compute 2.0 and 2.1 cards as the latest official builds only support Compute 3.0 or newer GPUs. Below the list of cards and their Compute capabilities you can find links for the respective versions of ccMiner to use…
