It Is All About BTC, LTC, ETH, DOGE, KAS mining as well as other alternative crypto currencies
The author of the popular SRBminer CryptoNight AMD GPU miner, doktor83, has just released a new mining software called SRBMiner-MULTI CPU and AMD GPU Miner. The new miner is targeted at algorithms for CPU mining as well as some CPU and GPU ones for more recent AMD-based video cards (R9 2xx series and newer)… other than the CN-based algorithms that his other AMD GPU miner supports. Do note that just like his CryptoNight GPU miner, this new CPU and GPU AMD miner is also available only for Windows as a pre-compiled binary (it is closed source) and there is a built-in developer fee as follows: 0% for blake2b, 1.70% for rainforestv2 and 0.85% for all other supported algorithms. The miner does not yet have support for the new RandomX algorithm, but it will most likely get one at least regarding CPU support, you can find the initially supported algorithms below:
CPU-only algorithms:
– cpupower
– yescryptr16
– yescryptr32
– yescryptr8
– yespower
– yespowerlitb
– yespowerr16
CPU + GPU algorithms:
– blake2b
– blake2s
– keccak
– mtp
– rainforestv2
– yescrypt

Luxcore (LUX) project also known as LUXCoin previously has announced their plans for an upcoming fork that will replace the currently used PHI2 algorithm to a new one called RX2 (essentially a variation of the lately popular RandomX algo). RX2 is Luxcore’s version of RandomX that has some small modifications to the RandomX parameters in order to suit some specific requirements (details are not yet revealed). The exact date for the introduction of the new algorithm has not been revealed yet, so it is sill “in the coming weeks”. This marks yet another crypto project that is going towards the RandomX algorithm in order to fight with FPGA and ASIC miners.
Since the RX2 algorithm is based on the RandomX it will also be more CPU-friendly for mining (will require a separate miner support apparently) as it will not work with any of the miners that currently support RandomX. It seems that so far the RandomX algo favors AMD’s latest multi-core Ryzen 3 CPUs in terms of performance over Intel’s products that are much more widely spread and used mostly by miners in the last years. This could help AMD’s sales of new processors if mining for RandomX picks up and offers decent profitability which is still not the case for the moment. If more projects move towards RandomX or variations of the algorithm, like LUX is apparently doing, the interest and profitability might as well skyrocket and spark a new wave of CPU mining oriented rigs to be built.
We have not talked about the BitCash (BITC) project for quite some time, but it just got our attention once more with its recent fork. BitCash has moved to the new X16Rv2 algorithm, however you will not be able to GPU mine it for the moment as the existing miner software does not support the specific header that BITC uses. So until there is official support from a GPU miner specifically for the BITC variant of X16Rv2 the coin can only be solo CPU mined via the wallet. This might be interesting for some miners out there that have decent CPUs sitting idle as this might be a good opportunity for you to stack up some coins before GPU mining becomes available again.
Update: BitCash will have another hard fork in a few days on 6 October 10:00 UTC to correct the problem with the mining. This hard fork will bring back the possibility of GPU mining. There is a new wallet version 0.17.20 already. Everybody needs to upgrade to the new version. After the new fork we should be able to use the T-Rex GPU again for X16Rv2 mining with GPUs.
