A new version of the popular CryptoNight AMD GPU miner SRBMiner is now available bringing some new features and a number of improvements worth updating if you are mining any of the supported Cryptonight algorithms. The latest version 1.6.5 adds support for one new algorithm – Cryptonight Red (MoX Project) that is about to soon launch. New benchmarking parameters are added that give you the ability to benchmark your settings offline, so you don’t need to connect to a pool anymore just to test hashrate performance of an algorithm. There is no more need for compute switching software, you can do it now easily from SRBMiner via a dedicated command line parameter that will find all your AMD cards and set them to compute mode, and also disable crossfire on them. Te latest version of the miner is now just one executable file, so no more dll files are needed making it more portable. Do note that for optimal performance it is recommended to use the Adrenalin 18.6.1 or Adrenalin 18.3.4 AMD GPU drivers, you can also use the old Blockchain drivers or the newer 18.7.1, but with reduced performance.

Supported CryptoNight variations:
– Cryptonight
– Cryptonight V7
– Cryptonight Lite
– Cryptonight Lite V7
– Cryptonight Heavy
– Cryptonight IPBC
– Cryptonight Artocash
– Cryptonight Alloy
– Cryptonight Marketcash
– Cryptonight B2n
– Cryptonight Stellitev4
– Cryptonight Fast
– Cryptonight Haven
– Cryptonight Italo
– Cryptonight Mox

There is a new miner on the block called BXB-Miner that supports many different variants of the CryptoNight algorithm intended for AMG GPU miners, though it also supports CPU mining, that comes with a graphical user interface (kind of) as you still need to the the setup in a config file. It is a closed source miner, available only for Windows for the moment, though surprisingly there is no developer fee as we are used to see with most non-opensource miners.

BXB-Miner works with:
– Cryptonight
– Cryptonight v7
– Cryptonight-Heavy (Bixbite, Sumocoin)
– New Stellite
– New Haven
– IPBC, Alloy
– Cryptonight Lite
– Cryptonight Lite v7

Performance wise the miner does seem to do pretty well compared to other alternatives, though do note that the BXB-Miner is still in early beta, so there is a more work needed to make it more user friendly. Still you might be interested in giving it a try.

SRBMiner is turning out to be the first choice for a CryptoNight AMG GPU miner thanks to the good and fast support and especially the reaction time to changes and new CryptoNight variations getting supported. The latest version 1.6.0 of SRBMiner adds support for the new Haven (HVN) algorithm to go after the fork at block 89200 as well as for the new Masari (MSR) algorithm to go after the fork at block 204000. The latest version also comes with some new features and improvements to make it more usable and problem free, though apparently there are still some miner crashes happening mostly on Windows systems with the latest 1803 update.

We are reminding you that SRBMiner is a closed source miner and comes with a built-in developer fee of 0.85%. It is only available for Windows operating systems as a precompiled binary that you can download and use. SRBMiner is designed for AMD OpenCL GPUs and will work on a wider range of AMD-based video cards, both older and newer generations such as the latest Radeon RX series.

Supported CryptoNight variations:

– Cryptonight Artocash
– Cryptonight Alloy
– Cryptonight Marketcash
– Cryptonight B2n
