The cpuminer-opt is an optimized CPU miner (source) forked from cpuminer-multi, but with added optimizations for many algorithms for use with the more recent CPUs supporting the AES-NI instruction set, though the miner also works on older SSE2 capable CPUs with lower performance. Up until recently the cpuminer-opt was available only for Linux users, but starting from version 3.3 there is also Windows support and we have compiled 64-bit binaries of the miner for Windows for the latest released version 3.3.5. Joblo, the person behind the project, has been quite active with the development lately fixing some issues with AES-NI support and we have been compiling all the new updates, so we have decided to post the latest one for everyone that is mining HODL, ESP, XRE or another recent altcoin with a new algorithm.
In the archive below you can find multiple executable files that are compiled for different CPU architectures that support AES-NI instructions, so you are welcome to try them and if your processor does not have support AES-NI, then you might want to use the cpuminer-sse2.exe binary. The default cpuminer.exe is compiled for Intel Westmere, the first Intel architecture that has support for the AES-NI instruction set and cpuminer-amd.exe is bdver1 which should work on all AMD processors with AES-NI support. If you have a more recent Intel Sandybridge, Ivybridge, Haswell or Broadwell-based processor you can try the respective binary to see if that will squeeze some extra performance, or you can compile directly on your PC with the native instruction set supported by your CPU.

There is now an sgminer fork for GPU mining Espers (ESP) that uses HMQ1725 algorithm available (source) that works on AMD GPUs. The miner is still in an early beta and you may experience issues trying to use it, it is recommended to be with 15.12 drivers as older or newer versions might not work, the latest Crimson release does not for sure. Below you can find a working 32-bit Windows binary or you can compile from the source, though it seems that there are some issues with the source that still need fixing for problem free compilation. We were able to make the GPU miner for ESP work with about 530 KHS in terms of hashrate on an AMD Radeon 280X GPU or with other words a few times higher hashrate than on a high-end CPU using the CPU miner for hmq1725. We were not able to make the miner work properly on 290X, nor on Nvidia GPUs using OpenCL, so if you try the binary you are welcome to report your experience with it.

A bit late with this one, but better late than never. We have compiled a 64-bit Windows binary of the new cpuminer-multi fork by ocminer (source) with support for the HMQ1725 algorithm used by Espers (ESP). We have made small source changes in order to use hmq1725 as algorithm name instead of quark in the original source and compiled generic binaries for AMD and Intel CPUs that seem to provide a bit higher hashrate than the Windows binary provided by ocminer. We have tried compiling with optimizations for specific CPU architectures, but since it did not produce noticeable performance increase we are sticking to the generic ones for AMD K8 or newer as well as Intel Core 2 or newer processors. Running some tests on an Intel 5820K CPU has resulted in about 135 KHS with ocminer’s binary and our Windows binaries are giving us about 150 KHS, so they should be around 10% faster, but you are welcome to try and report your results.
