It Is All About BTC, LTC, ETH, DOGE, KAS mining as well as other alternative crypto currencies
Yet another update from sp on his open source and free fork of supminer (ccminer) called Raven x16r/x16s Spmod-git #7 (source) with a bit more extra performance thanks to optimizations done to hamsi/Echo/echo-simd. The X16S support should be fixed in this release as well as it was broken in the previous, but our quick tests in a few pools show that no shares are being accepted – low difficulty or invalid shares getting reported by the pools, so it may need some more work. X16S support is now really fixed, make sure you download the miner again if you have downloaded the initial binary that was released for the fix applied.
The ultimate goal of this miner is apparently to take the top spot in terms of X16x performance from the current leader z-enemy 1.15a and this release is a step closer to that goal. Our tests on GTX 1080 Ti show that Raven x16r/x16s Spmod-git #7 is still a tiny bit behind in terms of pure performance, however you should not forget that the z-enemy miner contains a 1% developer fee built-in and that already makes things pretty much even on actual performance. It is always good to have some competition as it drives things forward.

Another update from sp on his open source and free fork of supminer (ccminer) called Raven x16r/x16s Spmod-git #6 (source) that promises another +10-15% performance increase (Optimizations to aes, echo and simd) over the recently released Raven x16r/x16s Spmod-git #5. The only not so good thing is that this miner comes at a time when X16R mining is not very profitable to be mined, but that goes for many other algorithms as well in the currently low profit period for mining. The Github repository only has an official Windows binary, 32-bit CUDA 9.2, so if you need something else you would need to compile from source yourself.
With the latest Raven x16r/x16s Spmod-git #6 the miner is trying to compete for the top spot performance wise with the other fastest X16R miners out there (X16S support seems to be broken). Performance wise the spmod-git #6 seems to be slightly faster than T-Rex and z-enemy 1.14, but could be just a bit slower (in some of the algorithms) behind the latest z-enemy 1.15a. However you should not forget that the z-enemy miner is a closed source one and comes with a built-in 1% developer fee, while the Raven x16r/x16s Spmod-git #6 miner is free, open source and with no dev fee so taking that into account the end result in terms of hashrate you get maybe is already pretty much the same.

The latest zealot/enemy-1.15a (z-enemy) from Dk and Enemy was released soon after the previous version 1.14 was made publicly available and it brings more performance improvements as well as a support for a new mining algorithm. The hashrate has been further increased with about 1 to 5% for the following algorithms: X16, X17, HSR, Renesis, Xevan, Sonoa, Aergo, Poly, Phi1612. With these performance improvements z-enemy might once more be the fastest X16 miner out there, though for Renesis, another recently added algorithm the latest T-Rex miner is still faster in terms of performance.
The new z-enemy 1.15 has also added support for the new HEX mining algorithm that has been announced just a few days ago as introduced by the XDNA project. The working principle of HEX is calculating the block hash with a pseudo-random sequence of 16 different algorithms (kernels): BLAKE / BMW / GROESTL / JH / KECCAK / SKEIN / LUFFA / CUBEHASH / SHAVITE / SIMD / ECHO / HAMSI / FUGUE / SHABAL / WHIRLPOOL / SHA2. The latest public release of z-enemy-1.15a has a fix for the difficulty and allows you to use maximum intensity of up to 25 in order to further increase the performance of HEX with another +7% to +15% if your GPUs can handle the extra load properly. If you are looking for new coins using new mining algorithms, then XDNA and HEX might be an interesting choice for you, though XDNA is actually not a new coin release, it has been available for a while, just the HEX algorithm is new.
