The latest SRBMiner-MULTI 0.1.5 miner has introduced support for the RandomX and its few variants for CPU mining, something that we were eagerly anticipating to see and to compare the performance to the already available XMRig RandomX CPU miner. SRBMiner-MULTI 0.1.5 supports CPU mining of RandomX for the upcoming Monero (XMR) fork, the variants RandomXL for LOKI and RandomWow or Wownero that are already using their new algorithms for mining as well as the RandomArq for the upcoming ArQmA (ARQ) fork. There are some new features, improvements and fixes as well that might be helpful and useful with the new release, so you might want to check out the full changelog.

The most important question is what performance to expect from the atest SRBMiner-MULTI and the RandomX algorithm compared to what XMRig is already delivering to CPU miners? Well, unfortunately it seems that so far SRBMiner-MULTI will need to do better in order to catch up to the performance level tat latest XMRig is delivering, at least on AMD’s Ryzen 3xxx series of CPUs that do seem to be delivering one of the best RandomX hashrates out there for the moment. We have tested and compared both miners on an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU (6 cores, 12 threads) and the results are significantly in favor of XMRig. While SRBMiner-MULTI CPU manages to deliver around 3000 H/s in our tests, the same system manages 5500+ H/s, so you might want to stick to XMRig for now until SRBMiner-MULTI gets further improved performance. With an Intel Core i7 6850K processor (6 cores, 12 threads) the XMRig does 2500 H/s while SRBMiner-MULTI CPU manages to deliver just around 1500 H/s and it seems that the slower hashrate is a direct result of the miner not being able to fully utilize 100% of the available processor resources. The overall CPU load for SRBMiner-MULTI mining RandomX is just around 50% and not full 100% percent that it should be with the miner fully using all 12 threads of the processor.

The author of the popular SRBminer CryptoNight AMD GPU miner has just updated his new mining software called SRBMiner-MULTI CPU and AMD GPU Miner to version 0.1.2 Betta adding support for the new kangaroo12 (k12) algorithm on GPU and CPU. The miner is targeted at algorithms for CPU mining as well as some CPU and GPU ones for more recent AMD-based video cards (R9 2xx series and newer)… other than the CN-based algorithms that the other SRBminer Cryptonight oriented miner software for AMD GPU supports. The latest version also fixes the dev fee at a lower 0.85% value for all of the supported algorithms (no more lower or higher developer fee) as well as comes with some bug fixes.

Do note that just like his CryptoNight GPU miner, this new CPU and GPU AMD miner is also available only for Windows (Linux version might be coming out soon as well hopefully) as a pre-compiled binary and there is a built-in developer fee now fixed at 0.85% for all supported algorithms. The author of the popular SRBminer CryptoNight AMD GPU miner has just updated his new mining software called SRBMiner-MULTI CPU and AMD GPU Miner to version 0.1.1 Betta adding support for a few new algorithms and some bug fixes. The new miner is targeted at algorithms for CPU mining as well as some CPU and GPU ones for more recent AMD-based video cards (R9 2xx series and newer)… other than the CN-based algorithms that his other AMD GPU miner supports. The new algorithms include: yespowerltncg, yespowersugar, yespowerurx, yespower2b, eaglesong (nervos-ckb) algorithms and there is also added support for SHA with yespower algorithm family.

Do note that just like his CryptoNight GPU miner, this new CPU and GPU AMD miner is also available only for Windows (Linux version might be oming out soon) as a pre-compiled binary and there is a built-in developer fee as follows: 0% for blake2b and yespowerurx, 1.70% for rainforestv2 and 0.85% for all other supported algorithms. The miner does not yet have support for the new RandomX algorithm, but it will hopefully get one at least regarding CPU support in the future, you can find the initially supported algorithms below:
