The Raptoreum (RTM) crypto project has been in development for quite some time now and just recently has officially launched its mainnet. The goal of Raptoreum is to provides a fast and secure cryptocurrency that anybody can easily use, but even more than that it is building a simple to use asset platform that will allow anybody to tokenize anything (non fungible tokens) with just a few clicks. RTM features POW mining with a custom algorithm called Ghostrider, currently CPU-only as well as smartnodes. The Ghostrider algorithm is a combination of algorithms from the X16R and CryptoNight families, cycled in random and not so random patterns used to gain consensus on the on chain generation and transaction of coins. Although the Ghostride algorithm is currently CPU-only a transition to GPU mining is very likely in the not so distant future.

If you have some spare CPU mining power and what to try something new, then you might check out the Raptoreum (RTM) project and its GhostRider algorithm. There are a number of mining pools supporting RTM mining with RPlant being the largest in terms of hashrate, followed by Suprnova and the dedicated RTM pool R-pool. For a CPU miner supporting the Ghostrider Take2 algorithm you can check cpuminer-ghostrider-take2-support available for both Windows and Linux binaries for the most popular CPU architectures as well as in source. RTМ is being traded already on SoouthXchange, SafeTrade and AutradeX.

It has been a while since we last covered the cpuminer-opt software, but the good news is that its development hasn’t stopped and this should probably be your go to miner as far as CPU mineable crypto coins are concerned. Do note that cpuminer-opt is an open source mining software for processor mining that supports a lot of algorithms and that list is growing, though you will most likely be using just a couple of them nowadays. The miner has optimizations for older and newer AMD and Intel processors, so make sure you try the binary that is intended for your processor for best results or feel free to experiment.

The alternative that often comes handy as far as CPU mining is concerned is SRBMiner-MULTI that supports fewer CPU mining algorithms, but some of them could be more optimized compared to cpuminer-opt, and also has support for RandomX algorithms (mostly targeted at AMD Ryzen CPU miners). SRBMiner-MULTI however is also a closed source miner with a built-in developer fee, even if it is a verified and a trusted one, some people still prefer to use open source mining software only s far as crypto and not only is concerned.

Have in mind that cpuminer-opt is available as a pre-built and ready to be used binary only for Windows, it has its source code available for everyone, has no developer fees of any kind and is supported only with donations, so if you find it useful fee free to toss some coins to your friendly software developer JayDDee (joblo) on Bitcointalk to the following Bitcoin address: 12tdvfF7KmAsihBXQXynT6E6th2c2pByTT.

YentenCoin (YTN) is an interesting project that we have stumbled upon when looking around for CPU-only crypto coins and we were pleasantly surprised by it – a good presentation, ongoing development, large number of pools and listed on a number of smaller crypto exchanges. It all seems great, until you look at the trading volume – almost one, yet there seems to be a few hundred people mining the coin. The project describes itself as “the best CPU coin” that can be mined wit everyone that has a computer (CPU crypto coin) and that could’ve been true if it had larger user base and more trading and usage going on as the rest seems quite OK already. So we wanted to give our readers an idea of the project, so maybe it could get some more attention that it deserves.

YTH uses the YespowerR16 mining algorithm, meaning it is intended to be mined with processors only, no GPU mining here, sorry. A good choice of a mining software would be cpuminer-opt or SRBMiner-MULTI, though there are other options available as well. The YespowerR16 algorithm is Intel friendly, meaning that AMD Ryzen CPU owners might want to go for RandomX-based projects in order to maximize their processor’s potential instead. YentenCoin (YTN) even has its own simple GUI miner that might not be the best performing one, but sure seems easy enough for everyone to use.

The largest mining pool for YTN currently is CPU Pool that has some other small CPU-only crypto projects available for mining. You can also try Yenten Pool and the coin is also available on the Zergpool and Zpool where it can be autoexchanged to BTC if you do not wish to mine YTN coins directly. As for exchanges, a good starting point would be Graviex and Crex24, though as we have already mentioned there is currently not much trading going on for YentenCoin.
