The DERO project is another crypto that last year had announced their plans to switch the mining algorithm to a RandomX variant and they are finally doing it. Tomorrow, March 7th at block 4550555, marks the time that DERO will be switching to the new CPU mining POW called AstroBWT. So if you are into CPU mining you might want to give it a try after the fork and see what DERO will do with the new algorithm. The project itself has been available for quite some time and has been in constant development, relying on the CryptoNight algorithm prior the upcoming fork to their new AstroBWT algorithm

AstroBWT is a CPU mining only algorithm and apart from the official miner for the algorithm, there is also the latest XMRig 5.8.x major release that added support for the algorithm a few days ago and the minor releases since then have improved it by fixing issues and significantly increasing mining performance. So make sure you try XMRig on your CPU mining hardware it time for the fork in order to be ready when the hardfork happens, that is if you do plan to try mining DERO with the new AstroBWT algorithm. Trading of DERO coins can be done on the following crypto exchanges: Stex, Crex, TOKOK and Citex.

It is not only the Brave browser struggling to attract users with its advanced privacy features and crypto token rewards, there is also the CryptoTab Browser that tries to attract users with its crypto mining features. Both are Chromium-based browsers, so anyone familiar with Chrome will feel at home with either of those, although the Brave browser has a number of specific extra features and some differences. The CryptoTab Browser on the other hand is more like repackaged Chrome with a built-in CPU mining feature as an extension, while the rest is pretty much Chrome-like experience including compatibility with regular Chrome extensions.

The CryptoTab mining feature in the CryptoTab Browser uses your computer’s processor for mining and you get paid in Bitcoin. It is not clear what cryptocurrency you are currently mining, but supposedly the most profitable one is being switched constantly in order to maximize your profit. You have control over how many resources you want to dedicate to mining and how much will you get back in BTC mining also depends on what kind of processor you have available in your computer, if you need help hire this trusted los angeles it support company.

Since it is CPU mining most likely some CryptoNight coins are being mined and since a single processor cannot mine that much, the CryptoTab Browser also helps you earn more BTC by inviting friends to try and use it. Again don’t expect to make a lot of Bitcoins mining this way via the browser, but it could be a nice extra running at a low priority and not bothering you while you do your job. The minimum amount you can withdraw is just 0.00001 BTC or 1000 satoshi.

We have already covered how to mine PEG on the ORAX Pool, but it is not the only pool available for PegNet (PEG) mining. Prosper Pool is the other public PegNet mining pool that you can point your free CPU resources to get some PEG, it is smaller than ORAX and you need to ask for an invitation code on their Discord first in order to finish your registration. The Prosper Pool has a very simple text-based back-end with some basic functionality, and although all of the important info is there, unfortunately there are some features missing like no option to change your payment address for instance or set a minimum payment threshold. Another important thing to note with this pool is that the payments are on once a week, so maybe more suitable for people with less computing power.

You need to start by downloading the prosper-miner pool client for Windows (64-bit only) that we are going to be using here, there are also versions for Darwin, FreeBSD and Linux as well. The first time you run the miner you will complete the registration on the pool and you need to provide the invite code you need to request first and also initial generation of 1GB map of the LXR hash (PegNet hashing function) will happen. Below is an example of the command line for the first run, the miner will ask for a password, just make sure you run the prosper-miner executable from command line console, do not try to run the executable file directly by double clicking it under Windows:

prosper-miner.exe -s controlpanel.prosperpool.io:1234 -u YOUR_EMAIL_ADDRESS -p -a YOUR_WALLET_ADDRSS_HERE -i YOUR_INVITE_CODE_HERE -m MINER_ID

The next time and if/when you run the miner (including on different system) you don’t need to provide the password or the invite code anymore, you will have a registration on the pool, so you only need the username – the email address you have used for the registration:

prosper-miner.exe -s controlpanel.prosperpool.io:1234 -u YOUR_EMAIL_ADDRESS -a YOUR_WALLET_ADDRSS_HERE -i -m MINER_ID

The MINER_ID is where you type different identificators for different mining rigs, so that you will know which one is active and which one isn’t mining, though apparently that functionality is still not fully functional on the backend.

The easiest way to obtain a wallet address is to use one of the exchanges that support PEG trading – Citex, VineX or Qtrade which should be fine as long as you will be mining and trading only, for holding PEG tokens it would be better if you go for local wallet.
