NiceHash With Multi-Algorithm Solo Mining and Blockchain Lottery Functionality

The service for renting and leasing hashrate NiceHashhas just announced that it has turned 1 year old and has launched a new functionality for people interested in solo mining for a specific crypto currency and testing their luck in a so called blockchain lottery. This is a great option for people that do not have a lot of hashrate to test their luck for solving a block of either Bitcoin, Litecoin or Dash (the former Darkcoin) and thus playing a sort of Blockchain Lottery. If you are lucky enough you may be able to hit a block for far less time than what your available hashrate should normally do and get much higher profit from the BTC, LTC or Dash block than for the same time spent mining in a pool sharing the profit. Do note that there is always the chance that you may end up needing more time than expected and that is why it is called a lottery, because the results depend on your luck.

You can start solo mining and trying your luck very easily as there is no need to make registration to start using the new service. You just need to point your mining software to the right stratum server, depending on the coin you want to try – Bitcoin, Litecoin or Dash and use a wallet address for the chosen coin for username along with any password. You can also add workers if you want to monitor separate status for different miners for example, all f the workers will be solo mining with combined hashrate for you. If you find a block, 99.5% of the block reward + transaction fees get generated directly at your address. The only drawback is that if you stop mining before hitting a block then you are not going to get anything and all of your time mining will be for nothing, so if you decide to give it a try make sure you either give up soon after you start or wait for a block before stopping.

It is April 1st and companies that work with Bitcoins and other crypto currencies are releasing clever or not so clever new ideas or projects as a fun and engaging way to celebrate the day. Of course we are talking about jokes, not something real… or is it? We’ve collected some of the more interesting and fun April 1st Jokes here, so if you have not yet seen them do enjoy and remember, these are jokes and not real things or upcoming projects or products!

– The BitPay Klondike is a car powered Bitcoin ASIC miner supposedly capable to provide users that get it installed in their cars with 400 GH/s hashrate being powered from the reclaimed kinetic energy generated by braking the car.
– Newegg Introducing Own Cryptocurrency called EGGCOIN, the online retailer does accept Bitcoin as a form of payment, but they are actually not really launching their own egg-based altcoin.
– ChangeTip SCAN is a device that will turn paper currency (fiat) to digital currency such as Bitcoin by scanning your dollar bills and exchanging them for Bitcoins and then destroying the physical bill, well not really.
– Greece Will Adopt the Bitcoin, so apparently the finance minister of the country wants to move from Euro to Bitcoin, well, not really.
– Bitreserve Introducing Adamantium and Orichalcum, the service really introduces some interesting new fictional precious metals.
– Spondoolies-Tech SAT10 Mega CPU SHA256 Miner to be released in limited quantities, a special Intel NUC-based PC being able to achieve 100 TH/s SHA-256 hashrate using the CPU for mining with specially optimized mining software.
– CoinDesk Launches Moon Bureau, the crypto currency news site is relocating their operations to the Moon and employees will be able to return back to Earth when the Bitcoin price passes the $5000 USD mark.

The Game SaruTobi Has Been Taken Down from the App Store

It seems that the iOS game that rewards players with Bitcoin Tips, SaruTobi, has been taken down from Apple’s App Store temporary. The reason given according to the game’s developer is the fact that players may be confused that the Bitcoins they can buy in-game might be real Bitcoin and not in-game currency. This “problem” has been fixed already apparently and the updated version of the game is already awaiting approval according to a status update published on MandelDuck’s official Facebook page. If you have already downloaded and installed the game on your iPhone or iPad you can continue to play it without any problems and get Bitcoin Tips when you collect enough black Coins.


Here is a quote of the post from SaruTobi’s developer:

Apple removed the app from sale on the weekend over concerns users would be confused over the use of in game Bitcoins (not real) and actual real Bitcoin.
Mainly because there is an in app purchase that lets you buy the in game coins, Apple are concerned that users may think they are buying real Bitcoin, fair enough (even though it tells them they aren’t).
I have had to fix this issue and the updated app is currently waiting for review and should be live in the app store soon.
