While Ravencoin (RVN) is still yet to fork to the new X16Rv2 algorithm on October 1st we now have a project that already switched to the new algo. Originally the Pexa Coin (PEXA) had to fork on the same date as RVN, but the coin has successfully forked to the new X16Rv2 algorithm earlier then initially planned. Originally the project relied on the X16R algorithm that may not yet have ASIC miners for sure, but there are FPGAs available for it. You might want to check out the PEXA project if you are not familiar with it… it just caught our attention because of the X16Rv2 fork.

Even though the X16Rv2 is already here as used by PEXA and very soon to be used by the much more popular project Ravencoin there do not seem to be much choice for miners with support for the new algorithm. PEXA has posted an unofficial T-Rex 0.14.2 (BETA) builds with support for the X16Rv2 algorithm, you can find the software following the link below, with other popular mining software such as Z-Enemy miner expected to have updates with support in the upcoming days before the RVN fork.

The latest ccminer 1.1.23 djm34 fork for the MTP algorithm used by ZCoin (XZC) seems to be providing the best performance for more recent Nvidia mining GPUs such as GTX 1070 or 1080 Ti including the latest RTX 2080 Ti as well (faster than the recently updated T-Rex miner). Owners of GTX 1080-based GPUs with GDDR5X memory can use the OhGodAnETHlargementPill to get a bit of extra boost in performance. The miner is open source, though there is a built-in 0.25% fee (that can be turned off) in the officially compiled binaries for both Linux and Windows. Do note however that the official windows binary requires CUDA 10.1-compatible video driver, so you may need to update your mining rigs. Linux binaries are available for CUDA 0.2, 10 and 10.1. Stability wise the miner may not be perfect yet, so make sure you have a loop set when running it to have it restarted if it crashes. NiceHash mining does not seem to be supported for the moment.

The former SUQA project, now SINOVATE (SIN), is about to hardfork in a couple of hours with numerous changes going into effect at block 170,000 that should be reached in a couple of hours time. With the hardfork there will be a new algorithm going into effect, switching from the old X22i to the new X25x algorithm for mining. The new algorithm is heavier and more memory intensive, so the hashrate you will be getting after the fork is gong to be lower with X25x compared to what you would be getting with X22i. There are already miners available for both Nvidia and AMD GPUs, you can find the expected performance below for GTX 1080 Ti and RX 580 8GB and as one would expect Nvidia is doing better for the new algorithm as well.
