The NiceHash Miner is a nice and easy solution for mining and getting paid directly in Bitcoin, especially for people that re not much into crypto mining or don’t want to get too deep into things, but still want to make some coins if they have the hardware. NiceHash has opened a signup form for people that are interested in trying out the alpha version of their upcoming version 2.0 of the miner software. Furthermore they have announced that they will randomly select one tester that reports at least one bug or a review and reward him/her with 0.25 BTC. So if you are already using the NiceHash Miner and want to help in the improvement of the upcoming new major version (and possibly get rewarded for that) you might want to sign up.

It seems that the mysterious 21 company is continuing to try to figure out what and how they should capitalize on their huge investments and Bitcoin. Their latest incarnation is a combination between an email and social media service with integrated Bitcoin payments.  If you need to know about Kennected, which is popular in social media and linkedin services, you can check out the link. They compare it to LinkedIn’s InMail service where you pay to get in contact with a member of the service that is not your contact and you don’t know personally. With a 21 profile the idea is similar, however here a member of the service can contact you by paying you in Bitcoin and you get the money, not the service. It is not an actual email service, nor it is a fully fledged LinkedIn alternative or a Facebook-like social media… it is a kind of a hybrid between multiple things with

Registration for 21 profiles are apparently open to the public now, so you can reserve your name by creating a profile now. Once you do you will need to get it confirmed in order to Earn your first $0.50 USD in Bitcoin and then you will be available to be contacted with survey type questions, though apparently not only limited to that, from other members and get paid for responding to them. You are also able to get in touch the same way with other members of the community, there are already a number of lists that group different people like a list of CEOs or VCs, programmers, students, crypto currency traders and other specialists in their areas.

It seems that 21 is currently in need of attaining a large user base in a relatively short period of time and they have figured out a way to make things work for both themselves and the users of their service. The 21 profile can be a useful tool in the hands of a professionals in many different fields, but it does not seems that much attractive to the regular Joe at this point. Sure you may be able to get some extra money from it, but at this point if you are not a professional is some field you will hardly be somebody that will be paid for his/hers opinion. Still you might be interested in checking out the service and if you already have a LinkedIn profile, then you might also want to get a 21 Profile as well… even if you are not into Bitcoin or crypto currencies (yet).

Applications and services trying to get people from outside crypto currencies to start mining are nothing new for example Minergate. The problem with these however is that they are targeting regular users that may not have the right hardware for profitable crypto mining and more specifically a good GPU. Here comes a new contender called Merito in the form of an easy application targeted at gamers and giving them the opportunity to utilize their higher-eng gaming PCs for mining while they are not in use. All you need to do to get started is make a quick registration and download and run the provided application, no hard to do configurations or setting things up, just type your email address (the one you registered with) in the app and click the Start button. The GUI is going to show you the earnings you have accumulated so far and an estimate on what you may earn.

By default the Merito app should start with Windows, but it will start mining only after the computer has been idle for at least 20 minutes and will use only the GPU for mining. You can also add CPU mining and make the application run with the start of the operating system or run it only manually. There is also the option to schedule it to run only in a specific time frame such as during the night. Another interesting feature is the ability to enable Charity mining and set a percentage or support your favorite Twitch steamer with a percentage you decide from what you have earned mining.

The main idea of the Merito application is to make it easy for gamers to earn something back from the gaming hardware they have purchased and either get paid through PayPal or get games with what they earned. As a backend and for the actual mining the app uses Monero (XMR) miner for the CPU as well as ZCash (ZEC) miner for the GPU with the mining applications included with the graphical user interface. So far the application is being used by about 600 people which is not a bad start at all and with a lot of gamers out there that are not into crypto mining the potential for growth is quite big.
