Team Red Miner 0.6.0 With Support for the Ethash Algorithm

Team Red Miner is a performance optimized cryptocurrency miner for AMD GPUs with support for lyra2rev3, lyra2z, phi2, CryptoNight v8 (CNv2) and CryptoNight R (CNv4), X16 variants, MTP, Cuckarood29 and Cuckatoo31 and now adding Ethash support as well in the latest 0.6 release. The miner is available for both Windows and Linux operating systems, a closed source software with 2.5% to 3% development fee built-in for all algos except Ethash, for Ethash on Polaris GPUs the dev fee is 0.75% and on all other GPUs is 1.0%.

A quick test of the Team Red Miner 0.6.0 for mining ETH (current DAG 299) on AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB GPUs has shown hashrate very similar to what other Ethash miners are capable of delivering on the same hardware, so performance wise things seem to be very good. New lolMiner 0.9 OpenCL GPU Miner With Cuckatoo 31 Performance Boost

The latest update of the AMD OpenCL GPU miner lolMiner 0.9 brings significant performance boost for the Cuckatoo 31 algorithm used by Grin on 8GB AMD cards (+22% on Polaris and up to 30% on Radeon VII) and reduced Grin stale shares. The new version also has the 16GB solver for GRIN-AT31 disabled as it seems that the 8GB solver is faster at the moment in terms of hashrate. Do note that currently AMD Navi support is disabled for the new algorithms and Cuckatoo-31 on ROCm drivers falls back to 4GB kernel.

Expected performance on Cuckatoo-31 (stock settings):

– Radeon Vega 64: 1.2 g/s
– Power Color Radeon VII 1.53 g/s

We remind you that lolMiner is a closed source OpenCL GPU miner available for Windows and Linux as pre-compiled binaries only and that there is a developer fee for using the software (1% for all supported algorithms). Mining Nervos (CKB) is Quickly Moving Away From GPUs to FPGA Miners

Just a few days after the official launch of the Nervos (CKB) mainnet and GPU mining the Eaglesong algorithm may alterady become pointless with FPGAs apparently getting support for the algorithm. First was the information about FPGA support available for the EagleSong algorithm with bitstreams and miners available for Alveo U200 and Xilinx VCU1525 FPGAs. Now Hash Altcon has also announced support for Nervos CKB mining on their Blackminer F1 series of FPGAs with the CKB bitstream to be released soon. They state Eaglesong hashrate of 22 GH/S with power usage of 1020 Watts (1.1 GH/S for single GTX 1080 Ti with 200W of power usage), so definitely more efficient than GPUs. This is signaling the end of GPU mining for Nervos (CKB) and a move onto FPGA mining for sure. There was a pick in mining hashrate yesterday when first new of FPGA support broke out, though today it is lower, with Blackminers F1 joining the game in the next few days there will most likely be another spike in hashrate… depending on profitability of course. With the slow difficulty adjustment that Nervos (CKB) currently uses there may still be some more time left for GPU mining, though even at the moment profitability does not seem attractive at all.
