Innosilicon has released a new 24 THS Bitcoin ASIC miner based on 10nm chips utilizing Samsung Foundry’s advanced low-power FinFET technology. The new T2 Turbo miner should be capable of deliverin 24 THS hasrate with 1980 Watts of power usage, very similar to what the recently announced Japanese 7nm GMO Miner B2 promises. The Innosilicon T2 Turbo is already available for order priced at $1350 USD (roughly 0.19 BTC or 19 LTC at the moment) and it comes with a built-in power supply included in the price. Delivery of the first batch starts from 15th August to 25th August on a first come first serve basis.

Innosilicon T2 Turbo Specifications:
– Hashrate: 24TH/s (+/-5%)
– Power Consumption: 1980W (+10%, normal mode, at the wall, with 93% efficiency PSU, 25°C temperature)
– Chip Type: INNOSILICON T2 Turbo Miner
– Dimensions: 408mm(L)*135mm(W)*232mm(H)
– Net Weight: 8.82KG
– Ambient Temperature: 0°C—85°C (device junction temperature)
– Network Connection: Ethernet

Canaan’s Avalon ASIC miners do not seem to be getting much attention unlike Bitmain’s for example, but that doesn’t mean they do not have something new and interesting to show from time to time. Their latest creation Canaan Moose is an integrated Bitcoin ASIC miner solution that offers 156 THS SHA256 hashrate for BTC mining in a single package that is ready to be plugged in and start mining. The miner is based on twelve Avalon 841 that consume a total of 15480 Watts of power and the miner needs three phase power in the from of two IEC 60309 16A power connectors.

Canaan Moose Specifications:
– Hashrate: 156TH/s, -5% ~ +10% : Average 163.2
– Power Consumption: 15480W, +0% ~ +20% @ 13TH/s, 25°C, 93% PSU Efficiency, 12V AC, Wall-Plug
– Power Efficiency: 0.099J / GigaHash Wall-Plug
– Power Connectors: IEC 60309 16A x 2
– Rated Input Voltage: 365 ~ 418V
– Frequency: Smart Speed
– Network Connection: RJ45 Network Connector
– Operating Temperature: -5℃ ~ 30℃
– Air-intake Temperature: -5℃ ~ 30℃
– Dimensions: 890 x 450 x 725 cm
– Net weight: 140kg

The 156 THS Canaan Moose ASIC miner is priced at $9900 USD and comes with everything ready to be used, you just need to plug power and internet and set your mining pool and worker. No need to setup things using 12 separate ASIC miners, everything is ready to go with power supplies, network connectivity and miner control. It even seems to come cheaper than purchasing 12 separate miners, 12 power supplies and a miner controller, so it might be of interest to some larger scale miners as a ready to deploy solution… it is even stackable.

The demand for Bitcoin mining hardware seems to causing some strange decisions among the ASIC manufacturers and one such is apparently the announcement of the Bitmain Antminer V9. A small 4 THS SHA256 ASIC miner that uses 1 KW of power, so not very efficient, but it comes cheap at just $345 USD. There are already some speculations that this could as well be old hardware renamed and refurbished as a new product to clear up some old mining hardware used by Bitmain in their mining farms in China instead of having to relocate it to a new place. This batch has a MOQ (minimum order quantity) of 5 units and all ordered quantities can only be multiples of 5 (10, 15, 20 units and so on) with the maximum number of units in a single order up to 300. The shipping for all confirmed orders will start after March 1st and payment accepted is only in Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and USD wire transfer.

Bitmain Antminer V9 Specifications:
– Product model: V9
– Hash chip type: BM1580
– Total quantity of hash chips: 135 PCS
– Total quantity of hash boards: 3 PCS
– Total hash rate: 4TH ±5%
– DC voltage input: 11.60~13.00 V
– DC current input @12V DC: 79.59 A +10%
– DC Power @12V DC input: 955 W +10%
– 220VAC Power @25℃, 93% conversion efficiency of APW3: 1027 W +10%
– 220VAC Power efficiency @25℃, 93% conversion efficiency of APW3: 253mJ/MH+10%
– Weight (without package): 3.05 kg
– Operation temperature: 0-40 ℃
– Storage temperature: -40-85 ℃
– Operation humidity: 5%RH-95%RH, prevent condensation
– Noise: 76 dB
– Networking connection mode: Ethernet Cable
– Power connection mode: All three PCI-E ports are required to power the board. You can use one PSU to power multiple boards, but do not attempt to power one board with two PSUs.We suggest to prevent the control board to be powered up before hash boards be powered up.
– Size (Length*Width*Height, without package): 301mm*123mm*155mm

All in all not a very exciting new announcement of a new ASIC miner from Bitmain, efficiency wise the “new” hardware is disappointing for the performance it offers at the rated power usage. So it seems to be targeted at users looking for cheap hardware that have really cheap or even “free” power, otherwise it just does not seem economically reasonable to buy these miners at the moment.
