CryptoDredge is a new simple and highly optimized crypto currency miner software for Nvidia GPU mining rigs that supports just a few algorithms at the moment, but performance wise it looks very promising. It support the following algorithms: Allium, Lyra2REv2, Lyra2z, NeoScrypt and PHI1612 and requires Nvidia GPUs with Compute Capability 5.0 or newer (Maxwell or Pascal architecture). Currently Lyra2z support is only limited to GTX 1050 GPUs, all other algoritms should work fine on other Nvidia GPUs. Also have in mind that CryptoDredge is a closed source miner available only for windows at the moment and it comes with a built-in developer fee of 1%.

What caught our interest initially with this new miner is the claim that it is the fastest Lyra2REv2 miner, so we had to compare its performance with the most popular Lyra2REv2 ccminer from from Nanashi that most people still use when it comes to mining Lyra2REv2 on Nvidia GPUs. Well, we can confirm that we are getting around 15% better performance with CryptoDredge vs the same settings using the ccMiner 2.2-mod-r2 fork by Nanashi Meiyo-Meijin on GTX 1080 Ti. So if you are mining a coin using the Lyra2REv2 algorithm or are selling your Lyra2REv2 hashrate on NiceHash you might want to check out the CryptoDredge miner.

If you have GPU mining rigs using more recent Nvidia GPUs and are interested in mining NeoScrypt based crypto coins, then you might want to check out the new hsrminer for Neoscrypt. This is a new closed source miner being developed by palgin & alexkap that is currently available as a Windows-only binary with 1% developer fee built-in. Currently the hsminer software is under development with a version available for Neoscrypt as well as for HSR mining support with other crypto algorithms coming later on as well. The currently available hsrminer version for Neoscrypt does offer a good improvement in terms of performance as compared to the previously available fastest ccMiner releases, so definitely worth checking it out.

Before trying this miner software just make sure that your Nvidia GPU is with Compute Capability 5.0 supported as minimum (though currently only Pascal GPUs seem to work) as well that are using a driver version 388.3x or later. Also it is advised to make sure that the amount of virtual memory you have set under Windows is pretty high as the miner does require a lot of memory, especially for more powerful GPUs. If using Windows 10 you might want to be sure that you have all the latest updates installed including the Creators Update as otherwise you might have issues with the miner.

ccminer-1-6-3-tpruvot-git-latest

We have compiled a new up to date Windows binary from the latest ccMiner 1.6.3-git by tpruvot (source). The latest version includes support for the NeoScrypt algorithm that has been improved over djm34’s initial work that might also work on older Nvidia GPU. There are also numerous code improvements included in the latest code, so if you are using tpruvot’s fork of ccMiner you might want to update. The previous windows binary release that we posted required Compute 3.5 as a minimum, this one is compiled for Compute 3.0 or newer Nvidia GPUs, but not all algorithms may work on older GPUs. Our windows binary is compiled with VS2013 and supports Compute 3.0, 3.5, 5.0 and 5.2 GPUs, you can download and try it below, there is an example BAT file setup for testing.
