It Is All About BTC, LTC, ETH, DOGE, KAS mining as well as other alternative crypto currencies
ZelCash (ZEL) is an anonymous cryptocurrency that has been forked from ZCash (ZEC), but has since been evolving into a kind of a multi-functional crypto ecosystem. Initially the project used the Equihash algorithm that ZEC used (Equihash 200,9), but has since forked to Zhash (Equihash 144,5) and most recently a couple of months ago switched to the ZelHash (Equihash 125,4) algorithm. Meanwhile ZelCash has also been apparently renamed to just Zel, though it is still been widely referred to as ZelCash on most places. Currently ZelCash (ZEL) is ranked at 457th place by CoinMarketCap with a market cap of sub 5M USD and a daily volume of more than half the total capitalization.
ZEL has getting some attention lately and we have decided to check out mining it once more with the new algorithm and give you some helpful information should you decide to try mining it as well. The Equihash 125,4 algorithm called ZelHash is not as widely supported as other Equihash variations out there, though it is available for both AMD and Nvidia GPU miners. It is not available on NiceHash for the moment, though the algorithm is available at MiningRigRentals which can be used to your advantage where you might want to sell your hashrate if more profitable to mine directly ZEL.
The largest mining pool for ZEL is 2miners, though you can check what other pools with support for the ZelHash algorithm for ZelCash are available on MiningPoolStats. For AMD GPU mining you can only use the lolMiner closed source OpenCL miner with 1% developer free built-in. Nvidia GPU miners have more options with ZelHash supported by both the GMiner CUDA closed source miner with 2% developer fee built-in or the alternative miniZ CUDA closed source miner also with 2% dev fee. Our quick tests are showing that performance wise the miniZ miner does seem to be faster in terms of hashrate, though stability wise it is not as good as GMiner, so if using the miniZ miner make sure you use a loop when running the miner software. Some good crypto exchanges to trade ZEL coins include Stex, Citex and TOKOK.

The latest two version of GMiner 1.46 come with more performance boost for the following supported algorithms: Grin29 (GRIN), Aeternity (AE) and SWAP on Nvidia GPUs and especially for GTX 1080 Ti mining rig owners. The performance boost is not that significant, but any bit of extra hashrate is welcome, so make sure you update to get a bit better hashrate. The new version also adds support for the Equihash 125,4 algorithm for Nvidia cards that is being used by ZelCash.
The GMiner miner requires an Nvidia GPU with CUDA compute capability 5.0 or later as well as CUDA 9.0 driver support, some algorithms are already supported on AMD GPUs as well (Cuckaroo29, Cuckoo29, Cuckaroo29s, Beam’s Equihash 150,5, Equihash 144,5 and 192,7. Do note that GMiner is a closed source miner for Nvidia and AMD GPUs with binaries available for both Windows and Linux, also there is a 2% developer fee built-in the software.

The latest Bminer 15.5.0 comes with another interesting dual-mining feature that has attracted our attention, namely dual-mining Ethereum (ETH) and VeriBlock (VBK), meaning that you can mine any Ethash coin together with the vBlake2 algorithm used by VBK. The new version also comes with improved performance of the Cuckatoo31 algorithm and added parameter -version
to output the current miner version and exit.
What we were most interested in the new version was the support for VBK (no standalone support for the algorithm yet), so only dual mining Ethash and VBK for now. We wanted to see what performance we can expect in this dual mode from VBK as we already know what to expect regarding Ethash hashrate. Unfortunately it seems that VBK support really does need some more work as the miner is somewhat unstable when dual mining and crashes from time to time and results are also erratic. With OhGodAnETHlargementPill running we were not getting any accepted shares for VBK, only stales, and with the Pill software not running it seems that VBlake2 shares are properly submitted. It is hard to understand however what is the exact hashrate for each of the two algorithms when dual mining, so more work is required on that new feature apparently.
We remind you that that Bminer is a closed source Nvidia GPU miner available for Linux and Windows in the form of pre-compiled binaries and that there is a 2% development fee for Grin, Beam, Bytom (BTM), Equihash and Zhash coins, 0.65% for Ethash and 1.3% for dual mining Ethash and Blake.
