Get Up to About 50 MHS on ETH With GTX 1080 Ti and OhGodAnETHlargementPill

23 Apr
2018

There seems to be a new tool from OhGodACompany called OhGodAnETHlargementPill presented in a bit funny and confusing way that does wonders for Nvidia-based GPUs with GDDR5X memory like GTX 1080 and GTX 1080 Ti for Ethash-based crypto coins. The “magic” tool is available for both Linux and Windows and all you need to do to increase your Ethereum (ETH) hashrate or that of another Ethash-based crypto coin up to about 50 MHS on a single GTX 1080 Ti (up to about 40 MHs on GTX 1080) is to have it running along with your miner. We have done a quick test with Claymore’s Dual ETH miner and got 46 MHS with power saving clocks on a mining rig with 6x GTX 1080 Ti graphics cards. So if you have Nvidia GPU mining rigs with GDDR5X memory (GTX 1080 or GTX 1080 Ti for now) you might wnat to give this tool a go and report your results in the comments below. And yes, the hashrate is higher not only locally reported, but poolside as well, so it is really working in boosting actual performance for Ethash mining. We are also seeing a decent improvement with Cryptonight as a memory intensive algorithm (more than 10%), so you might want to try with other algos as well and see if there will be extra performance gained fro this tweak.

To try out the new OhGodAnETHlargementPill tool that boosts Ethereum hashrate on Nvidia GDDR5X GPUs…

Some more info about this tool.

So what this does is, it accesses the memory block and modifies RRD & FAW values (timings)

It’s exactly the same changes i’ve done on the P104 & P102 about 6 months ago but this time through direct injection (nicely done though..).

Don’t get your hopes up to much as it won’t work on any other nvidia card.
The only ones it will work on is those with G5X memory.
Oh and the P104/102 won’t work either as they’ve been modified already, vbios wise.

Still a nice job!

And how to change the timings to GP104?

Tried on x16r but my 1080 didn’t like it.

This is interesting. Anyone checked temps of memory modules?

Also, does it work and it is beneficial for other memory heavy algos like neoscrypt?

their github account is gone, you can’t download this anymore

Here is the Windows version: https://mega.nz/#!bqh23JzQ!ZTWufkHsB8mGxSFvVb9f0SyayBP0Aw9NwrL_PXyJlK0

You can try with --revA 0,1,3 where the numbers are device IDs if just running the executable does not help in improving performance.

Is this the latest commit submit ? There was a commit submit after 3 hours from the original version.
Thanks,

P.S. Virustotal gives 2 malicious entry but all the other entries are green. It Should be clean but carefull

I noticed quite nice speedup on cryptonight as well.

What’s the difference on Cryptonight ?

For Cryptonight you can get about 10-15% improvement in performance…

Anyone know if there is something similar available for GV100-400? (Titan V)

What driver/mining version are you using to get 50+? I can only get around 45 cranking up the memory using the newest Claymore and Nvidia drivers.

51-53 Mh on Gigabyte GTX 1080 ti Gaming G1 with +750 mem, +100 core (origin bios) (Claymore 11,7) (Win 10 home) (Drivers 391.35) Before this (patch) I hed 32-34 Mh on this same settings, also 3-4% better sol% with Zcash and dont ask me why (I really don’t know why, I only tried)

48 Mh/s on evga 1080 ti clocked +100/400

sadly, only 32Mh/s (up from 27Mh/s) on evga 1080 clocked +30/400

Nice find guys, thank you!

rev b locks up my gigabyte 1080 and asus 1080ti and rev a doesn’t lockup but doesn’t increase my hashrate even a little. Will watch for updates hopefully it might be fixed

Randomly crashes my KFA2 1080 EXOC on launch and requires reboot. For whatever reason, works better when I first launch it with the rev a parameter, kill it and relaunch it default.
Win 10 1709, 391.35, PhoenixMiner 2.9e, 8700k concurrently mining Monero.
34.3 MH/S, 68% power limit, 68°C (closed case).
As a sidenote, if launch goes ok runs stable ans allows playing Civ VI while mining at 31 MH/s :-).

This is not a miner, it is an additional tool that works along with a miner.

Does this work with nicehash?

wellzi

Win 10 Pro x64 | Claymores 11.7
1080Ti FE: 65% power, +100 core, +750 mem, 50% fan speed
220W from the wall @ 62 degrees. Settled for 48.5MH/s.

I did get 50.1 but it was hotter and ran at higher power consumption.
I think this is a good balance between noise (I work in the same room), power consumption, and hashes.

Tweaked it a little from the comment above:

1080 Ti FE: +790 mem, 60% fan, +10% voltage for 50MH/s and <62 degrees.

Not sure if the voltage is doing anything – I had it previously but forgot to mention it.

Increase from 35.5 to 52.5 on my EVGA 1080ti! In dual I have 51.5 Mh/s + 8200 Mh/s blake2s!

Something weird happened after I used this my Threadripper stopped mining or started mining very slow. It’s killing me I even did a fresh install of windows 10 and it’s still messed up. If anyone has an idea let me know 1950z 32 gig of quad channel 3600 1080 ti and s 1050 ti.

Hi All
I normally use a 1080 miner for ZCASH on equihash using the BMINER.
Having read this with my friend Cliff decided to give the ohgodanethlargementpill a test after changing the miner to ETHHASH.
prior to running the exe ohgodanethlargementpill I was getting 23.7 mhs per card (192mhs total on miner), within an instant of running the ohgodanethlargementpill executable the hashrate increased to 34mhs per card (272 mhs on the miner) making it far more profitable on ETHEREUM.

I am monitoring the executable to network activity, so far there is nothing, but i will continue to monitor this great piece of work!
Well done to the developer.

This pill is a placebo !!!

cum on!!! this is a joke!! a nice joke must admit!! the guy who made it is a bit of a genius.. but only increases a fake hash rate.. (maybe some got excited on other specs)
no power increase, no Gpu increase.. Just a fake hashrate..

I know this because i tested!!! I opened the programm and then i had sex… i cum 15 times in one hour… the next day i didnt open the programm and i cum 15 times in one hour.

Seriously…
I measured with hashrate 35Mh and i got 48 shares.. then i took the pill
I measured with hashrate 54Mh and i got 49 shares…
