Updated ccMiner 1.7.2 fork by tpruvot With VanillaCoin and Decred Support

Version 1.7.2 of tpruvot’s ccMiner fork source) for GPU mining on Nvidia-based video cards has been released and it comes with official support for Vanillacoin (VNL) as well as Decred (DCR) support. Below you can find compiled Windows binaries to try out the mining them, both are Blake256-based, but with some different requirements such as the need to use longpoll and getwork, and no support for stratum for Decred for example. There are two versions available, the 32-bit one is with support for older Compute 2.1 and 3.0 GPUs while the 64-bit version is for the newer Compute 3.5, 5 and 5.2 cards. We have tested the new release on GTX 970 and the results are slightly better at about 1.35 GHS (with the 64-bit miner) than what we are getting with the cgminer fork for Decred that relies on OpenCL that is also compatible with Nvidia cards. The ccMiner fork might be helpful to people that are having very high CPU usage with cgminer that results in lower mining performance, though the CPU load is still not that low even with ccMiner. Also the use of ccMiner for mining Decred could result in less rejected shares from the pool and no weird errors as some people are experiencing with cgminer, so if you are mining DCR on Nvidia with cgminer, then you should try with ccMiner as well.

Yes, thanks! With a 980 and 2x 750ti, I’m getting a little over 3.5mh better performance with ccminer, which is almost another 750ti worth of hashes :)

Both the 32-bit and the 64-bit versions are compiled with CUDA 7.5 with VS2013, the 64-bit version is slightly faster for Decred. CUDA 6.5 can also be used to compile though this might help for compatibility with old GPUs, there should not be much difference in terms of performance…

I confirm at least a 20% hashrate increase using this version of ccminer instead of the official cgminer for Decred on a GTX 960. Was at 714MH/s, now at 860MH/s!
CPU has dropped from 30% to almost 0%.
GPU temperature increased of only 1 degree C!
This is an awsome release, keep the good work coming guys!

I just get this error:
“Cuda error in func ‘decred_cpu_setBlock_52’ at line 320 : invalid device symbol.”

The 32-bit version has been replaced with a CUDA 6.5 compiled one with support for Compute 2.1-5.2 GPUs, so just download again.

Thanks so much admin! That’s great, now it works perfectly for my ‘old’ nVidia 660 Ti which doubled in hashrate for Decred from 240 Mh/s to 448 Mh/s.

It is still getwork over stratum, not full stratum support. So while it may be better than normal getwork, you can still get a few rejects from time to time.

Getting nothing but rejects either INVALID ID or INVALID SHARE when trying to mine ESP
