It Is All About BTC, LTC, ETH, DOGE, KAS mining as well as other alternative crypto currencies
Based on user reports it seems that the popular BitTorrent client uTorrent in its latest version also installs a crypto mining software that uses the processing power of the computer it is running on to mine crypto currencies. The latest update version 3.4.2 of the uTorrent apparently installs a CPU miner from Epic Scale without asking or telling the user and this is the actual problem. If during the installation the user was asked if he wanted to install the software and warned what it is going to be doing using computer resources. When a crypto mining software gets installed without a user consent it is never a good thing and the people behind the software BitTorrent client apparently learned this the hard way as the news broke out.
You can still download and install the version 3.4.2 of uTorrent by BitTorrent from the official website, but it is no longer offered as an update if you are running an older version of the software as it was a bit earlier today. Also it seems that uTorrent has taken down their official forums as they were cited as a source for users complaining about the issue with the crypto mining software. In the end it does not matter how well the company handles the issue, it is already too late and many users of their software will no doubt switch to other alternative solutions.
After getting hacked last month and having over 7000 Bitcoins stollen the Chinese crypto currency exchange BTER apparently plans to get back to full operation instead of closing down. The website has been back online for a while already allowing users to withdraw some of the crypto coins they had before the hack, but it seems that the service operators do plan on fixing the security problems by rebuilding their backend and returning to normal operation and enabling the trading again. There are still not a lot of details as this was just announced on their official Twitter account, but probably more details will be available soon. The question that remains however is if they will be able to get their users back as this was not the first time the exchange suffered a serious breach in security resulting in loss of users coins.

It was big news for Bitcoin and crypto currencies in general when last summer Dell announced that they are going to start accepting Bitcoin payments in the U.S. and another good news just came from the company. Today Coinbase, the payment processor that Dell uses for Bitcoin payments, announced that they are working with Dell to expand Bitcoin as a payment option for Dell’s customers in the United Kingdom and Canada. Although it is still very limited in terms of international markets that will be supported, the fact that Dell is willing to expand the support for crypto payments is a positive sign that it is apparently working for them generating extra profit for the company. And if large companies such as Dell find Bitcoin payments useful (profitable), then this is really positive recognition of the BTC.
