There is a new official release of tpruvot’s ccMiner fork version 2.2.3 available (source) with new algorithms supported and additional improvements. The latest version brings support for Polytimos algorithm as well as support for the KeccakC algorithm, along with an optimized Keccak support for SM5+ GPUs, based on alexis78 improvements. The official Windows binaries for the new version are compiled for SM 3 Nvidia GPUs and CUDA 9 only (require driver version 384.xx or newer) and are available in 32-bit as well as 64-bit version.

After a quick test of the KeccakC support we can suggest that you might want to try increasing the intensity over the default value for your GPU for some improvements in terms of performance, though even then there is still a faster fork of ccMiner with KeccakC support. If you are interested in mining CreativeCoin (CREA) that uses the KeccakC algorithm with best performance you might want to check out this ccMiner fork for optimal performance.

It has been quite a while since we have seen a new update for the EWBF’s ZCash CUDA Miner that is one of the most used miners for Equihash-based coins on Nvidia GPUs. Interestingly enough the new version 0.3.4c was made available from Bitcoin Gold team members and via an update on the Bitcointalk thread for example. The updated EWBF’s ZCash CUDA Miner 0.3.4c promises an improvement of the mining speed of up to about 4% according to the release details, and we are actually seeing some slight performance increase based on our quick initial tests on GTX 1080 Ti, the new GTX 1070 Ti seem to benefit a bit more though.

Gold has long been regarded as a safe haven in times of market turmoil. Many investors have gained exposure to the precious metal by buying stocks of companies engaged in exploration and mining. You can read more about the performance and increase of golds value and learn about Noble Gold at http://www.raremetalblog.com/noble-gold/.
Some of the major players in the gold industry include Canada-based Franco Nevada Corp. (FNV), Newmont Corp. (NEM), and Australia-based Newcrest Mining Ltd. (NCM).

Do note however that the performance increase may vary depending on the settings of your GPUs – TDP and clock settings, so feel free to try out this release and report your results. The new EWBF’s ZCash CUDA Miner 0.3.4c can be used to mine Bitcoin Gold or any other Equihash-based crypto coin, so this release is not intended ro limited only to BTG. Do note that it comes as a binary only release for Windows and Linux and there is a 2% developer fee that can be disabled with a parameter.

There is a new closed source miner for the Lyra2rev2 algorithm available for AMD GPUs that is supposed to bring up the performance for owners of AMD-based mining rigs to a similar level of performance currently available to Nvidia mining rigs. The new miner is called mkxminer and is compatible with the more recent AMD GPUs such as Radeon series 200 or newer, including support for the latest VEGA GPUs as well (no asm kernels yet). There are assembler optimized kernels available for some of the supported GPUs for the best performance and the results in terms of hashrate are indeed very good.

It all seems pretty good so far, though there do seem to be some limitations such as the support for mining only on NiceHash at the moment (support for other pools may be added later on) and the lack of clear information how much is the developer fee. There is a dev fee included with this closed source miner, so you are mining for the developer form time to time, but nowhere is clearly stated what is the actual percentage of the fee. There is currently only a Windows version available, though a Linux one is also apparently being worked on as well and should be available soon.

For more details check the official announcement thread of the mkxminer on Bitcointalk…
