ccminer-maxwell-optimized-sp

This is something that will be of interest for Nvidia GPU miners that use GeForce GTX 750/750 Ti or the newer GTX 970/980 GPUs – a new ccMiner fork with optimized kernels for the Maxwell architecture (Compute 5.0 or 5.2) by SP. The ccMiner release 1.4.6.sp.Beta6 (source) is forked from tpruvot’s release supporting most of the available algorithms, but the focus here is to get the maximum performance out of the Maxwell GPUs. We have compiled a windows binary of the miner that you can download from the below, it is a 32-bit version compiled with VS2013 and with the latest CUDA 6.5 that has official support for GTX 970 and GTX 980 GPUs. Do note that archive includes a compiled binary for Compute 5.0, so it will not work on older video cards that are not based on the Maxwell architecture. Our tests have show that on a stock GeForce GTX 980 video card with no overclock we are getting about 7550 KHS for X11 up from about 6500 with the ccMiner 1.4.5-tpruvot under the same conditions and on the same hardware, X13 is up to about 6000 KHS with the SP optimized miner versus about 5300 KHS with the version from tpruvot. So definitely worth trying if you have some Maxwell hardware and you are mining with it to get the best possible performance, overclocking of course also brings the hashrate higher.

sgminer-5-dev-neoscrypt-windows

The latest development version of sgminer 5 (source) now also includes support for the Neoscrypt crypto algorithm for mining FTC and other crypto currencies relying on it. The OpenCL kernel included is the optimized version also available in the cgminer 3.7.8 with Neoscrypt that offers better performance and supports the latest AMD drivers version 14.9 (thanks to Wolf9466 Neoscrypt kernel improvements). We have compiled a windows binary and you can download it below to try it out, however it seems that the performance we get with this version of sgminer is a bit lower than with the dedicated fork of cgminer 3.7.8 on AMD Radeon R9 280X, the performance on Nvidia GPUs is the same. There is still no CUDA miner for Nvidia GPUS with Neoscrypt support, so if you want to mine Feathercoin with Nvidia-based GPUS such as GTX 750 or GTX 970/980 you need to use one of the OpenCL miners.

cgminer-3-7-8-neoscrypt-windows

There is an update of the official cgminer with Neoscrypt support to version 3.7.8 that adds new kernel with better performance and make the miner work with the latest AMD drivers 14.9, something that was not working with the older 3.7.7b miner. We have compiled a windows binary of the new cgminer 3.7.8 Neoscrypt (source) that you can download from the link below and try. Our first test on a AMD Radeon R9 280X without overclock has shown a performance of about 140 KHS, so about 50 percent increase from the older version and some people report going close to 200 with overclocked cards. Since there is still no CUDA miner for Neoscrypt available you can use this cgminer with OpenCL on Nvidia-based GPUs as well, though on Nvidia you are probably not going to see much of an improvement over the previous version of the miner.
