Hive OS – A New Linux GPU Mining Platform Gaining Popularity

There are a number of Linux-based mining distributions available out there, but most of them do have some limitation or a drawback or maybe are not very user friendly for non-advanced users. Hive OS is a relatively new Linux based mining platform that is trying to change that and offer a single package for all your GPU and even Bitmain ASIC miners for easy deployment, monitoring and control. The installation of the OS on any AMD or Nvidia GPU mining rig is quick and easy and then you take control from the cloud via a convenient web-based user interface, so no need to remotely login to each system and manage it or monitor it this way. The Hive OS comes with most popular miners for AMD and Nvidia GPUs for many algorithms and they are maintained, though you can add miners yourself as well without the need to compile them yourself from source. The mining platform is ideal for people with more than just a few mining rigs or ASIC miners as it allows you to easily monitor their operation and control them if needed including overclocking or underclocking to optimize them for efficiency or performance.

CryptoDredge 0.7.0 Nvidia GPU Miner Now Also Available for Linux

CryptoDredge is a relatively new Nvidia GPU miner that we are using mostly for its great Lyra2REv2 performance, though the miner also supports a number of other mining algorithms with good performance as well. The just released latest version of the software CryptoDredge 0.7.0 comes with just some improvements and fixes, but more importantly there is now a Linux binary available and not only a Windows one. We need to remind you that CryptoDredge is a closed source miner that comes with 1% built-in developer fee, so there is no source code and only binary releases available that you can use. New Faster Bytom (BTM) NebuTech BTMiner for Nvidia GPU Mining Rigs

The NebuTech BTMiner is the first Nvidia GPU miner for Bytom (BTM) and although the early versions were a bit problematic it is pretty stable now. Last month Bminer 9.0.0 got BTM support and it was faster in terms of hashrate, but the latest version of BTMiner NebuTech v5.1 is the fastest once more leaving the Antminer B3 Bytom ASIC miners in the dust in terms of performance. The Antminer B3 ASIC miner currently probably does just about half the hashrate of a single GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GPU. Unfortunately while the hashrate of Bytom (BTM) is increasing the price of the coins seems to be going down slowly at the moment. Then there is also the problem with the fact that there are BTM tokens as well as BTM coins and this also creates some confusion among users where and how to trade the different crypto assets.
